Still running Hot!
Did you burp the system when you change the water pump? I would check for exhaust gas in the coolant too.

New Problem...bearing about to go?
I had a strange noise too around 6 years ago. It wasn't my compressor but an air conditioning problem. I took it to the a/c shop and it was low fluid and maybe a fuse that was bad. The a/c shuts off if there's not enough fluid in it I think. I'll check my older post

Head gasket cost?
I need my head gasket replaced on my l300 anyone know the cost? I just did my water pump, timing belt and rad 10000 km ago. Since Delica's are appreciating in value I won't scrap it. I know the gasket is 100$ but I'm wondering how much the shop charges to do the job?

Running Hot but not Overheating!
When it gets hot, check if you have heat. If you don't and it blows cold when the temp is high I would suspect your head gasket. If it blows hot air that should bring your temp down and then I would think it's the rad.

Water pump replacement bolts
I just noticed there is bolt locations for the water pump after I've done the job. Is there any problems that anyone knows of that can happen if you don't get all the bolts right?

It could be your head gasket leaking coolant into your cylinder after shut down. I think this is happening to mine. Can you hear your expansion tank gurgling after you shut your car off? Is there a bit off white smoke when you start your van?

I would take the top timing belt cover off and see if there's oil on your belt and if it's coming from the fuel pump. 10mm socket with a small extension and ratchet is all you need.

Timing belt service advice
I just saw the other post with a Allen key. I love finding better ways to do things although I just figured out how to get the panel under the e brake off after already doing 3 timing belts. It was out of necessity though. My rad had to be replaced.

Timing belt service advice
There is a way better way to get the crankshaft bolt loose and tight. Go under the engine at the back and there is a thin stainless plate covering the torque converter I think it's 4 10mm bolts holding the cover on. Remove the cover and Just stick a flat screw driver(at 3 or 9 o'clock position) in t...

Re: Balance Belt - Who is choosing NOT to run one?
I did my first timing belt on my delica 7 years ago and the balancing belt was at the bottom of the pan. Torn in half. I didn't notice one bit. It looked like it was broken for a while . The biggest fear is if it breaks it could go through the timing belt which would be a disaster.
