Thanks sthaddeus. I still have the Delica and love the setup. Periodically, and for winter, I remove the sleeping platform and store it. So currently, it is not in the van for me to verify the questions you have asked. However...from memory:
1) Will it go into bed mode with the 2nd row of seats...

Diesel heater fuel pickup
by
Avittery » Thu Nov 21, 2019 10:20 pm
So I bought a diesel air heater for my L400 and wondering about plumbing it into the vehicle’s existing fuel tank.
It comes with a small fuel pickup (see photo) that I would put in the bottom of my fuel tank, but I’m wondering if it create too much vacuum inside the fuel tank since I won’t be...

Hi all
Apologies if I've posted this in the wrong section.
Does anyone here have any experience running 15x8J offset -8 rims on a stock (not lifted) L300? If so, any issues with rubbing at full lock etc?
I've spotted a very cheap set of those rims with tyres on (265/70's). They are Toyota Hilux...

31 x 10.5 x 15 tires will work if lifted.
May require a bit of trimming in the front wheel wells and removal of the front step plates.
Thanks for the info. My van is not lifted, but that's my next plan.

There are some really nice lifted L400's in Canada.
Some have perfect lift kits installed, addressing critical components, while some do not.
I've repaired a few L400's for other people that came over from Japan with a suspension lift already installed.
I'm seeing more and more lifted L400's...

Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance:
I’m going to replace the stereo head on my 93 L300. I want to put one in that has the following features:
1) back up camera
2) fits well
3) easy to use and connect with iPhone
4) easy interface
Any must-have features you think I’m missing?

I’ve been thinking about which stereo head unit is best. Clarion makes a unit that is 2din but also the size of simply two stereos at just under four inches which is good for the aesthetics of our dash.

I have seen in one of the Delica forums someone had done that. They were also selling them as the van had been totalled. This was years back. It's possible with some custom brackets made. Try doing a search in Google and on this forum. Good luck

My 95 L400 Diesel came without a manual throttle adjust. When I preheat my engine with my espar heater and then start it, the engine idles too low, causing a lot of vibrations during warmup. I decided to build my own. I let the pictures speak for themselves. Let me know if you figured out a better...

Man I didn't realize the throttle adjust was that simple! Definitely going to build my own now!
Might use one of these instead of the wing nut though...

Hi guys,
Has anyone had any luck removing the rear mirror thats on the back tailgate?
I just got a Batwing awning that wraps around to the back, and if the mirror was gone I could have the tailgate up perfectly.
As it is, it gets in the way. Also I never use it because I have a backup camera...

Yep, pop the cover off then it's held with 3 #3 Phillips machine screws. Maybe just get some black machine screws and put them back in? Would look better then the brass/gold ones Mitsubishi used

I ended up getting ahold of one of TieMyShoes Grinded cams, so I thought I would post my thoughts on it after driving with it a while.

afraid the 4g64 and myself have a rocky history and we are currently not on speaking terms. Being that the 4g is used in everything under the sun i would think somebody must already make a cam for it no?

6 inch tailgate lift

I was going to give a subject line of 6 lift for $10.00 , but decided to use a more searchable subject.
Some one has posted somewhere a tailgate mod of swapping the struts left/right. This raises the tailgate quite significantly. On mine it opened to 5'9 before, 6'3.5 after.
Although it can be...

yes you need longer bolts otherwise they will strip out. The tailgate is a heavy piece and there's lots of strain on the shock.
Another option I found worked well is to cut a spacer piece (old plastic cutting board) and insert it on the top of the shock bracket. Yup, you guesses it, longer...

I have a 1995 L300 4x4, its a 5 speed manual with a 4D56T in it. The engine is starting to get old and will need to get pulled out at some point (i think the piston rings are worn because it likes to smoke a lot, especially when starting). I was wondering if it was worth it to put the original...

235/85/16 Tires on 1994 L400?

Hi guys, just wondering if I would be able to fit 235/85/16 tires on oem Tacoma rims with an offset of +30 on my L400? I recently got this delica and it came with 215/65/16 tires. Unsure if the rims are stock, therefore I’m not sure if the offset is stock +33. But anyways, the tires look so tiny....

So you have the tires on rims and the van......jack it up and put them on! Observe. Test drive. Do they fit?

I think my Delica was stored near a volcano or maybe the nuclear power plants that melted down after the Tsunami.
