Re: victoria to montreal and almost back again... :(

Pyrometer: This tells you what the temperature of the exhaust is? This will let you know if the engine is working harder than normal? is that right? What are the pros and cons/cost of having one installed? Could someone direct me to a thread about them? many threads about them, search for pyrometer...

Re: To glow or not to glow.

[T]he delica doesn't have an ECU, it's simply a glow plug controller) It's the box in the driver's door pillar. yup, it's a glow plug controller. An ECU controlls the whole engine, the glow plug controller only controls the glow plugs. (easilly proved too, remove it completely, and the glow plugs s...

As the general consensus appears to be that I do not know what I'm talking about, and cause more harm than good, I am removing this post so that others are not tricked in to following my ill-advised instructions.

it depends where along that tube, but I have found that the dipstick tube has a small amount of play in it and you may be able to carefully "bend" it out of the way.

Re: To glow or not to glow.

impedance = resistance in DC circuits There is a common misunderstanding between the seemingly basic terms Resistance and Impedance. They both regard the same concept: the opposition to the flow of electrical current. That is in fact the complete definition for Resistance. Impedance, however, is a ...

no rule bending required... nope, you're not bending them, you're breaking them. yes, using the rules to get around the rules is normal, the problem is, Canadian rules are a heiarchy, and, unless you have found a constitutional rule that states otherwise (and I don't see "thou shalt import wha...

impedance = resistance in DC circuits I understand how all of this COULD affect a circuit, I just don't understand how it can affect THIS circuit. My understanding is that we have a relay (or 2 relays) switching the power for this circuit. Is there another module or wire somewhere attached to the po...

Re: LED Daytime Running Light $ 65.00 a Pair

The city-light bulb is not aimed "optimally" for the reflectors, so I suspect even a 27w bulb may not be bright enough or end up coming out the front aimed very well, in addition, I'm not sure I'd want to put a 27w bulb in a socket designed for a 5w bulb, that's a lot of extra heat in a pl...

I haven't "tested" mine per-se, however I also am relatively sure I have a limited slip in my royal.

Re: LED Daytime Running Light $ 65.00 a Pair

Has anyone found wiring at the L400 headlight that can be used as DRL wiring, on as soon as the key is turned? I didn't but I'm just an amateur.... You won't find anything like that already at the headlight, you'll have to run it from the fuse box or the steering column. Is there a bulb bright enou...

your proof does not apply to his method. Then tell me his method so I can show you proof that DOES apply What he is doing is 100% illegal, but you'd rather believe it's legal than allow any proof to the contrary. Importers who break the law to import or sell newer than 15 year old vehicles are the ...

So you will take his word for it that it's legal, but won't accept postings of laws that say it isn't? I can tell you he breaks the law, that is 100% for certain, which section is the only question, but without knowing how he does it I can't tell you that, but then again, you don't care. Whatever. they said something about the bottom end? i'm probably remembering wrong. If they have it apart they will know better than anyone speculating online. it is possible, though it wouldn't have been my first guess. The head was replaced in 2007 by ccauto, could that be the problem again after only thre...

Re: victoria to montreal and almost back again... :(

overheating and then stalled... ends up with no compression in 2 cylinders... that sounds rather like a cracked head... you may not need a whole engine, just the head. (of course there's no way to know for sure until it gets taken apart)
