it is a petrol ??. everything was at tdc but still not start

i have done the head gasket on my l300, i got it started and went for a drive and it cut out, got it home but now not starting again, got fuel and spark so think it is timeing but don't know how to reset it, plz can you help

i got a l300 and just put a new head on it but now have no spark any ideas anyone ???

my spark plugs keep choking up black and the exshaust is spitting out black stuff on start up it also smells very rich when starting and until warm plz help
