Hi guys. I need your expert advice.
I had the injection pump in my L300 Diesel A/T repaired because of a nasty fuel leak. I also had the fuel nozzles cleaned for better consumption.
The fuel leak is gone but I am now experiencing a new problem. Prior to said repair, the van automatically switches to overdrive at 65 kph. After the repair however, it has become difficult for me to bring it to a 61kph speed because the turbo activates at 60kph at the slightest pressure on the pedal and brings the RPM to 2500.
I ease on the pedal to bring it down to 2000 and make new attempts to prompt it to overdrive . Although it goes to overdrive on third to fourth try, it is causing unnecessary strain, in form of high RPM to the engine and worries on my part.
Can somebody please tell me what to do to correct the issue?
Thanks!
Wildtrak

Re: Overdrive problems
hey Wild - if I'm understanding you correctly you'll want to do a search on here for adjusting the "downshift cable" or "kick down cable"
There's a decent how-to if I remember correctly.

Re: Overdrive problems
Correct.
When the pump was rebuilt, its quite possible that the adjustment for the kickdown cable needed to be re-adjusted.
