Rear door "tension?" rods

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Rear door "tension?" rods

Post by sean »

So I went and picked up my Deli in North Vancouver yesterday. What a good looking ride!! :-D :-D :-D
Thanks to northvan matt for picking up me and the family at the ferry and transporting us to our destination. :-)

I will post pics soon in member's rides.

I noticed that the rear door does not stay up as the rods that are air loaded do not have the strength anymore.

Anybody have to change theirs due to the same issue? Where might I source these rods out? Any help appreciated.

SEan

A few years ago I had to replace the holdem up rods on my pickup canopy , got em at CAPIT a truck accessory place in Victoria. They had a huge assortment of sizes.

I will be down in Victoria this coming weekend and drop by CAPIT.

I wonder if I have to replace them or if I can somehow "recharge" the tension.

Thanks Artacoma

I think you'll find that the cheapest route is to replace them. I've got a similar issue but I think it has more to do with the heavy duty ladder on the back.

are these rods supposted to hold up the gate with a ladder on it?
without a ladder I am fine but with a ladder they don't hold.
