Hello all I need some help here. Looking at a van to take my motorcycles in on the longer trips, will mostly be dirt bikes and they are pretty tall (52 inches) I can compress the suspensions down a good 6-8 inches I think with ratchet straps.
Looking at a high roof L300 or L400 (I like the L400 better) and before I proceed I would like to see if I am out to lunch in thinking I can get 2 dirt bikes in the back with all the seats removed????
I have the measurements for each model, the Space Gear is a bit smaller but not a huge difference. Opinions? Thanks. Too far away to come and look at them.

one sure , two????????? I dont think so(handle bar will not fit I think??) I have a trailer for my bikes ( road bike) and it work like a charm. But I guess that if I would have to go far in the bush, it would be better without the trailer!!!! Pedro

You will get two bikes in both the L300 & L400....... The L300, I have transported two MX bikes (RM125's) in this model back in the early nineties with ease. The L300 is easier to secure the bikes due to the hump by the front seats. It is fairly easy to make a secure tie down point here. The L400 lacks this hump but I defiantly would be designing some kind if stopper for the front wheel on the bike and installing it in the L400...... far better than the L300 but that is my personal opinion only.maDDtraPPer wrote:Hello all I need some help here. Re: Considering Purchase for Motorcycle Transport
Ok so it's a done deal then Delica it is. I think if the handlebars are too wide then one bike goes in forward and one backwards...no prob. Trailers suck in the winter and I am thinking about migrating south to Baja for a while when winter gets too much, unload the van, ride until we drop... sleep in the van, repeat...
With the L400 is it the same deal as far as models go? High roof, low roof, window roof model? I am looking at an L400 on the net that has the windows in the roof how much do you loose in height with this and do you have leak problems?
Thanks!!!

L400 - with the windows in the roof is called a "Crystal Roof" and you hardly loose any interior height. As for leaking....... I have never come across one that leaks.maDDtraPPer wrote:Ok so it's a done deal then Delica it is. I think if the handlebars are too wide then one bike goes in forward and one backwards...no prob. You do not need to turn one bike around....... with the bikes you run them in as close to the side as you can go (but not that close) and then turn the handle bars 45 and secure it. Do the same with the second bike. If you want... you can run a third in backwards.
Any way.... good luck.
