Van -> Vic -> Tofino -> Long ferry lineup -> Home

Post by jessef »

I'm fortunate to 'have' to work in Victoria a few times a month, thus the company pays for my air/ferry over and back.

Went over friday morning, worked (Maryna flew in after work) and then we drove up to Tofino.

Surfed most of the time, so not many shots. She only snap the one on a closeout. :?

On the drive back down to Nanaimo at Nanoose, we came across TardisDeli :M and we mini-caravan'd to the ferry terminal.

We didn't have reservations, but Christine and Jay had a magic card.

They got us in as well. :-D THANK YOU !!! Maryna would have been pretty choked about waiting 2-3 sailing waits or getting stuck overnight.

Few pics at the terminals. Lots of googler's as usual.

Jesse & Maryna :-D :M

I really enjoyed viewing your trip photos :-) If ever we (konadog, Kona and I), go on a holiday, the west coast is my most desired destination. Maybe we'll take Hazel for a ride to Uclulet or somewhere along the west coast of our beautiful island before summer's end. Ferry lineups are a real drag. You look like you made the best of the wait relaxing between your delis. I love how simply lifting the rear door gives you an instant camping feel. You just want to lie back and relax with a cold drink and watch the world go by. The hatch door is still so novel to me. It shields you from the hot sun as well as the pouring rain. It's a wonderful thing when you work outdoors. It gives you a great place to chill and enjoy a cup of brown rice green tea, (beverage of choice at work). Wow, I began by dreaming about a west coast road trip and ended up talking about being at work. At the risk of sounding silly, having Hazel as our work vehicle actually adds a dimention of holiday to an otherwise ordinary day on the job. With the rear seat taken out, it is a very inviting spot to go and perhaps enjoy a little shut eye in between pruning plants and hauling loads of dirt around. I've caught konadog once or twice
