I'd pull the whole assembly depending on condition of both sides.

Measure your lengths on your Deli before you pull it.

New one, adjust to your measured lengths as close as you can.

While you have it off, I'd regrease/replace the boots.

Then take it to an alignment shop and have them do their magic.

Contact Mardy.

If memory serves me right, he has one or a few parts Deli's and running gear. :M

Yeh this is NOT something i wanted to happen, all it takes is a split boot for crap to get in and thats that. a piss off for sure ,im not looking forward to this one ,but hey! ill have lots of pic's for the wiki. Ill be calling Mardy real soon to see what hes got,but the whole assembly is also from what i can see is conected to the steering box too, i still need to get a real good look at what i have in store but i think it's a gooder.
Any more feed back would be great guy's iv'e yet to do rack and pinion work before.

Thanks
Rich :M

That would be an inner tie rod. On 98% of the vehicles ( non Delica) it is replaceable without removing the rack. Parts availability will be the the problem.

If you only have `play` in the inner tie rod ends you do not have to replace the rack . Those inner tie rod ends are easily replaceable as most usual vehicles . The same inner tie rod end tool that is in most repair shops in North America fits and should take no longer than 2hrs to replace both tie rod ends , boots and realign the toe . We keep lots of these in stock . If you require parts or any further information please do not hesitate to call me (250)954-2157 . We are now shipping daily to destinations all over Canada and can arrange next day courier or greyhound delivery . Thanks , Glen

P.S. I have several used power steering racks in stock $125 each .

Thats good news ,i do need to do something before the end of the summer and if i only need to change the rod ends and boots than thats great, that i can do , like i said ive never had this problem before with a vehical ill call ccautos.thanks all who are helping me with this one i need to get it in to someone for a 2 opinion, all in all it looks like ive got choice. Which is good. my biggest concern is not that the ball is warn but that the socket is boered over and is too big now for the ball? I need to get it to someone. $ is tight at the moment so ill have to be certian on which root to go.

Thanks Folks :M
