Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Fixable? Fuel filter sensor wiring disconnected

Post by TheMunkyHouse »

I just got my Delica and decided to change the fuel filter because I had no idea how long it'd been on there. After removing, the two wires in the sensor were barely hanging on, frayed JUST at the base of the sensor. Lo and behold, one of them bit the dust and the other's about to. I see a small hole in the area the wires insert. Is there a way I can get in there and reattach, or do I just need a new sensor? Thanks!

EDIT: Can I drive small distances safely without the sensor working? Such as to a parts store, or a garage a few miles away where I can work on it. Thanks!

its just the water in fuel sensor... mine has never been connected. Just an FYI the sensor is the same as a GMC Duramax. You will need to switch the plug over.

Thanks! So if my understanding of its purpose is correct (Like many here, this is my first diesel), if I leave it disconnected and empty the drain periodically in case any water collects, it's safe?
