Vaguing it out, in the morning, getting her up to 80 kliks up up an inclined on-ramp... I'd say five, six seconds.

Try emptying those roof racks and I'm sure you could shave 10 seconds off that.

So I took your advice and took her out to Mission Raceway.... nah, just kidding. But I did just spend and hour with the only woman to hold a wheel standing license in the world 1973-79, some wonderful people here in North Van.nxski wrote:Enter that in a drag race!!!FalcoColumbarius wrote:Vaguing it out, in the morning, getting her up to 80 kliks up up an inclined on-ramp... I got to thinking about my earlier post. Usually when I make my run in the morning up that hill I'm already doing 15 kliks as I wind the corner onto the on-ramp ~ so really I have no clue... seems like five or six seconds... but no.
So I took her out onto the highway tonight and from a standing stop to 80 kilometres per hour; up a one degree incline (more or less) She clocked 17.74 seconds.

Re: List your 0-60 times
I'd still say that's pretty good! I can barely achieve 80 up an incline, although that's more to do with the temperature than the engine's performancy. I'll test my times again when the weather is cooler because driving 100kph in this heat right now means high water temps.

Re: List your 0-60 times
I was looking for the flattest place where I could do eighty kliks, which in this case was the Lloyd exit, west bound on the Upper Levels. The incline is barely noticeable.
At night it's cooler, which means there is more oxygen in the air. Aeroplanes take off faster in the winter than in the middle of August for that reason (more lift). More oxygen ~ better burn.
Having said that, it probably shouldn't make too much difference because of the turbocharger (compressing air), assuming that there are no leaks in the intake manifold ~ and there's another famous thread on this. In a word ~ compression.

Re: List your 0-60 times
You're really taking this challenge seriously! Why are you using 80kph as the magic number though? 0-60mph is the typical measurement which equates to 97kph

0-80 in about 10-12 seconds, but then getting from 80-100 takes another 5 seconds...PWR on. L400
