I can't quite make out the image but if you have a coolant leak ~ I'd treat it as a precursor of things to come and fix it sooner than later.

How are the hoses? Have you checked the rest of the system? Where's the leak coming from?

this is right at the top of the system just above and to the left of the battery if looking at the van. i am pretty sure it is the bleed screw. i have not seen any coolent on the ground under the van but just found this by chance when considering some wiring routeing options. got the van warm today and did not see any coolent actively leaking from anywhere and all levels seem fine. is it possible that this is just reminance from when the system was bled??

Check it when it's hot thats when it'll have the most pressure in the system, that fitting is just a high point for bleeding if you have air in there somewhere. If you are not low on coolant I would just keep an eye on it. If it blows you can easily bypass it until you can get a replacement. The plastic bits on these vans can be brittle from age so don't over tighten .. be gentle.

Yes. If it was bled prior and the coolant was not wiped off, the heat of the plastic hose would have turned the coolant/watery mix into the yellowish deposit you see on there (it's not a hose, it is a pvc tube for coolant bleeding)

Like Rik said, wipe it down with a hot rag and monitor.

The cap on my bleed screw just snapped off and now it's leaking. Is it safe to replace it with a metal one until we can get a new plastic?
