He imported a L400 by himself, never got any preventative maintenance at all except oil change.
We, Rising Sun Auto Import, give 1 year warranty ( part and labour ) for delica starting issue/black smoke problem for our repair job as it is a huge investment.
Fred got a 1 year warranty this time.

Worry-free delica/pajero diesel shopping or repair from Rising Sun Auto Import.
We have a huge part inventory ( over 2000 new parts ) and manpower to handle this.

There's lots of complaint floating around from vendors as they have a hard time for 6.2V glow plugs sales for this.

Time to make a conclusion for going or not?
I would buy huge set ( maybe 100 set or more ) if I qualify for group buy.
Why don't you support local business?

FYI, I don't sell any 6.2V glow plugs and don't recommend anything except OEM glow plugs.

I'm assuming your warranty is covering all starting issue/smoke problems including fuel line/tank/system leaks, timing chain/ip/piston rings,etc... some variables that will cause smoke and starting issues as well.

I have to say I'm impressed by a blanket warranty that will cover such a common running issue with diesel engines. If this is true and in writing, I'm going to send everyone that has smoke/starting issues to your shop. A warranty like that alone is worth thousands if you have to dive into the engine and fuel system to get rid of smoke problems throughout the warranty period at the customer's discretion.

To diagnose/cure starting issue and black smoke problem for delicas is just simple for my experienced diesel engine mechanic and we have backed them up by huge genuine parts inventory.

Service standard is if a customer has a shop replace part 'A', the warranty goes with that part at time of failure and shop covers that part. A warranty on a problem and not a part. Never heard that before. I'll leave this thread at that.

We give our own shop warranty ( not Lubrico warranty ) for stock vehicle purchase if it is sold in Metro Vancouver area.
And it covers pretty much all issues even if warranty is limited to powertrain.

As for the Fred's case, he is our repair customer.
Warranty is limited to parts and labour for a year based on the mutual agreement.

So who is the manufacturer of these plugs? I know for the l400, the factory Mitsubishi glow plugs are made by NGK exclusively for Mitsubishi. I would think the same would be true for the other glow plugs sold by Mitsubishi, made by one of the major companies for Mitsubishi. The Japanese auto makers are famous for reverse engineering, finding the best product and using it for their application rather than trying to reinvent something and build it themselves. I don't know if this is true of the 6V glow plugs, but it would stand to reason. Any idea who makes them?

I bet original Mitsubishi 6.2 V glow plugs are exclusive solution for "super quick glow plug system", so Group Buy will be a good way to get them at better price.

But Japan has a long time "price-tag system" in all their industry ( current price ; 7,500yen for 1 piece ), which may be a ob•sta•cle.

I heard Shogo at Japanoid that original Mitsubishi 6.2 V glow plug price for each is currently appro.$120 and they will list a box at $560 in some day.
Also he said NGK cannot sell any OEM copy based on contract with Mitsubishi and no one is willing to take OEM off from their factory/warehouse.

Can we still wait for this deal?
I understand Jesse has tried to help delica owners, but is it a time to make a conclusion?

Our stock L400 Jasper had driven almost 6,100km to LA and San Francisco area very smoothly and nicely with 3 people and a cat carried during Christmas holiday.

My guess is because the van has dealer plates on it which means it not technically his vehicle so he can't post it in the Member Rides section and the Member Trips section doesn't get as much traffic as this topic does. Therefore, this is the most logical place to post. I could be totally wrong, and if I am I apologize. This could also be just another way of coming off looking like an innocent victim in this latest $hit$torm on this forum, it's kinda like polishing a turd though in my opinion.

(I hope my smileys allowed my message to come across and having fun and not really meaning anything by my backhanded comments ) It's a little trick I picked up around here.
