Finally! It happened!

Post by Pajerist »

I was so pleased this morning to hear http://www.news1130.com/news/national/a ... gas-prices
"No-one can understand why (in 2008) when oil per barrel was around $140 or $150 we were paying $1.37 per litre, when this year oil is south of $98 a barrel and yet we're paying more,"
 Gas was $1.42/L this morning...

PS cannot find off-topic threads, that is why posted here.

It's works out to about 1.09/L in Blaine and Point Roberts. That's where I'll be going.

Diesel is now one of the cheaper fuels. It seems to have remained stable while regular gas goes up, up, up!!! Never thought my van would be cheaper to run than my motorcycle.

Every government commission that has looked into gas prices has found everything good in NA. There has been 8 in the US and the last one in Canada found that gas prices do not go up prior to long weekends in the summer?

At the same time gas is really cheap given what it does to our environment and with increased costs come new technologies (or old technologies we do not have). I would love to be able to buy a 70mpg 3 cylinder diesel, 4 passenger car.

I just do not like oil companies making huge profits and being subsidized?

Diesel is a by-product of Gasoline and used to be half the price. Somehow it has become "~ a high tech ~ innovative ~ fuel ~ solution, OK, jah?" Which is why we sometimes pay more at the pump than for Gasoline. I think they're gouging.

Usually fuel prices are about $0.15/L more expensive in Vancouver than here in Ontario, but two days ago it was about the same...$1.42/L. Yesterday it was down to $1.37/L and today $1.32/L. I guess that "wanting to talk" was effective. Hopefully actually talking will help to.

All the more reason to go wvo. I've been thinking about making the switch since I got my Delica, but have yet to do it.
