I finally feel like I can introduce Self & Husband, now that we actually have our Delica. We picked it up in Vancouver on Wednesday, installed E-Coded Headlights, Reflectors, etc., on Wednesday Night, Passed BC Inspection on Thursday, and ran into the VIN "roadblock" on Thursday afternoon.....hopefully get that ironed out by next week.
We bought our lovely gal from Forum Member DEL BIG RIG in Japan ( I will be posting a "transaction review/feedback" later, for those interested in purchasing a Delica. )
Ours is a 1992 Super Exceed, Automatic, charcoal upper, light grey lower. When driving home on the Coquihalla, it was great - felt sooo solid! LOVED the stares we got!
No problem adjusting to the right hand drive. I was a little concerned about how much she could do on a level straight-away, given that the 2 Dellies we test-drove flatly refused to go faster than 90k/hr on the highway...but she was a STAR! Lots of juice! Yippee!We are former Westie-Owners, and really really love our Delica - what a well-designed vehicle! It's only been in our driveway for a couple of days, and already we've had a flock of people stop while walking by, to check it out and yack. It's a keeper - we're hooked for life!
Thanks ever so much to all the Members who take time to post very very helpful technical information on the forum - it has been utterly invaluable, and greatly appreciated! We are interested in WVO, and will be following the postings in that section closely.
