Yes, at least take one for a test drive. The driving experience is different, but more because you're right over top of the front wheels, giving (to me, at least) a "bouncy castle" effect. RHD is a minor consideration.
The anticipation of getting one in from Japan merely adds to the joy when you take delivery. As I did, this afternoon (pictures tomorrow!). Be warned that these things attract attention. On the way home I had two people roll down windows and ask questions ("Is it a diesel?" "Is it 4 wheel drive?"), and at least 4 carloads did double-takes.

DANGER!!!  If you're thinking you want a Delica and you take one for a test drive you'll be hooked!  I test drove one and now I'm shopping.  These machines are very cool.
