Mount Sheer Townsite (upper Brittania Mines)

Post by Jensen »

Last weekend I took a trip to Mount Sheer with the kids. There's a lot of cool stuff up there in the hills! The road is in really good shape. So good I encountered a stock Impreza driving around up there. I'm not going to post directions for a couple of reasons. 1. People are going up there and removing souvenirs (and scrap metal from the buildings) 2. Getting out of your vehicle and exploring can be dangerous. It's polluted, there's rusty nasty old equipment all over the place, and there's 200km of mines under the ground you're walking/driving around on. The plugs on some of the Portal's don't go all the way to the top and the entrances to some of the service areas under some of the remaining buildings are still accessible and I've seen pictures on the internet of people exploring them. This is super dangerous for a whole bunch of reasons (lack of oxygen, falling, drowning, getting pinned under something, etc.). If you want to know how to get there it's not a secret just Google it, there's even maps out there.

On to the pictures!
