Re: Starter removal questions??
I did mine a little while ago. It wasn't too difficult other
than the need for smaller hands to get in there.
Do a quick search for alternator and me and see what
pops up.
Easily doable.

Re: Starter removal questions??
Thanx FS,
Did your new starter fit?
I got my old one out but cant find the room to get the new one in. Side by side the new starter is just a curly hair longer and fatter (about 1/8") but it is stubbornly refusing to go in. The new one bumps up against the oil dipstick tube.

Re: Starter removal questions??
it depends where along that tube, but I have found that the dipstick tube has a small amount of play in it and you may be able to carefully "bend" it out of the way.Body File wrote:The new one bumps up against the oil dipstick tube.

Re: Starter removal questions??
The starter went in ok, just work it in and as Green said, the
dipstick has some movement available.
;)
It's easier than the alternator lol
but you can do it!

Re: Starter removal questions??
I tried moving the tube around, removed the bracket but still couldnt get it to fit.
Then the light came on and i realized that my block heater was in direct conflict with the oil tube.
Sooooooooooo, 30 minutes later on my tube bender at work i rerouted the oiltube around the blockheater and it now sticks up on the other side of the tranny stick. Only thing is i coulndnt get the bracket to mount back on so i had to cut it off.
Question is, will the oilstick tube migrate out if it isnt hard mounted to a bracket? It is quite the fit, the tube isnt rattling around or anything but i am still concerned about the tube vibrating out and having dirt etc make its way into my oil.
And it is hard to describe how it feels to finally have the Orgasmo start up ;)
