If you ever get the fortunate favourable advantage ~ a real delica-cy would be Marmite with caviare on a biscuit, followed by strawberries with pepper........ in November!
Okay, yah?

I just tried Marmite recently, and I loved it! It has a very strong "Umame" or "Savory" flavor which I like.fexlboi wrote:marsgal42 wrote:I tried vegemite once, when I went to Australia in 2002. I had nightmares afterward.![]()

Now, to threadjack (if one can in this type of thread?) I am wearing Vibram Five Finger KSO's I just got from MEC here in Victoria. They feel great! If unusual...
Who else has tried them here?

Between you and Jaz teasing me I'm ready to move back to 'straya'. I'm going into vegemite and cheese sandwich withdrawals. I can feel my life force fading...

Are those the shoes? They're freakin wierd. Tried on a friends pair the other day, and I can see that they would be good for water sports, but for running in... Glad the KSOs aren't kangaroo leather... seems like an odd choice for the market it would appeal to no?

"VEGEMITE"
It is not like jam or peanut butter.
Put the toast on.
Butter your toast with real butter.
Then put a thin(did ya read that)thin spread.
Basically just colouring it.
Perfect and really yummie
Really high in vitamins too.
regards David
You will be singing skippy the bush kangaroo in no time.

Re: Welcome to the "Last Word Café".
Amazing what you can find on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCHY6n907OE. It must be 40 years since I last heard that theme.
I went to a wildlife place in Ballarat http://www.wildlifepark.com.au/ to see some Australian wildlife (other than roadkill). It was painfully obvious that kangaroos aren't the brightest creatures out there, but they knew exactly what was in the bags of "kangaroo food" (corn and cattle pellets) they were selling at the entrance. I fed kangaroos, petted a wombat and saw a pen full of Tasmanian devils. Which actually look like little bears. They got their name not because they are nasty creatures, but because their call sounds like something from the depths of hell.

Re: Welcome to the "Last Word Café".
You know, looking through that link you posted Laura reminds me of how much Australian wildlife makes me think of Dr. Seuss, like the Tasmanian Tiger. Then I discover that the species is extinct. I wonder why?

Re: Welcome to the "Last Word Café".
G'day laura
The Tassie devil has the strongest bite of any animal on the planet per pounds per square inch.
Unfortunately they are being decemated by a disease which they have no answer for.Australia is madly trying to collect as many animals as possible before there gone.
Falco the Tassie tiger was our fault. The settlers killed nearly everyone because the thought they would kill their sheep. The last one died in a zoo in the thirties. They did that to the indigenous people as well.We are a clever bunch here.

But to a happier note.I have kangaroos in my garden and yes they have no fear when it comes to cars.
I was driving home when a roo jumped out,got around it,then another one and after the third one I jumped out the car and told them to sod off for goodness sake. They did.
The Kangaroo is known to be the most energy efficient animal on the planet,How cool is that.

cheers David

Hey everyone ~ I'd like to introduce Nitty who is the founder of Nitty's Coffee/Chocolate/Milo Lounge from Delica Club Australia. If you ever get into Delica Club Australia then you should pay a visit to said lounge. It can be found in the "Any Other Stuff" forum, under "The Campfire".
Nitty, pull up a pew and pour yourself a cuppa coffee and make yourself at home... smiles.
Fmande, we are not much better here in Canada.
Falco.
P.S.: For the benefit of our Australian cousins here is a short explanation of Canada that might help bring you up to speed:
