Is this it? Does it have the captain's chair mid row and in the back? I haven't seen that before, looks cool. You'll have to post some interior pics when you get it. ImageImage

Hi Adam,
It has 4 captains, and a bench at the very back (60/40 split) that slides back and forth about a foot. the interior is perfect.
They were great at maximum overdrive in richmond even telling me to wait an extra day before pickup because they hadn't done the front brakes yet...this is AFTER I gave them $1000 deposit.

Hey Rob,

Yeah, I thought the description of 6 seater was a little off:
Engine: 2.5TD
Cylinder: 4
Shift: auto
Air Conditioner: YES
Wheel: 4WD
Mileage: 104,000 KMS
Body: Seat: 6
Available Stock: P35-9923
Price: $9,800 +TAX
It sounds like the 7-seater, which is pretty standard.

I should be getting my Delica in the next few weeks and I'm trying to decide on the best WVO system myself. Given the current diesel prices it doesn't pay to hold of on converting, plus it will make mother earth breath a little better. I'm leaning towards the PlantDrive.ca kits mainly because they have a dealer/installer in Cobble Hill and it's a BC based company. Let me know what you end up going with, I still don't have much of an idea how much the conversion will cost.

On a side note, I heard that there we federal grants availalbe for the contrustion of a WVO filtering station. Not sure if this is completely accurate and it is something I'm pursuing info on, but it sounds promising.

coombs country auto

Post by Daddyman »

yo adam,
I know of a guy at coombs country auto, who, according to alternative groove beside costco, is a great mechanic/ dealer of deli's.
The alternative groove guy i spoke to apparently has 2 of them, with one for his girlfriend.
anyway, anything you need parts wise can come through him and he's the most honest englishman you've ever met...apparently.
I'm gonna swing out there as I need to pick up a flywheel puller for my old Kawi at Spunky's anyway.

Congratulations on the new van.

I'll second Adam on the fact that you shouldn't hold off going with a WVO (Waste veggie oil) converter install. Depending on how much you drive, you will be able to at a certain point calculate when the converter and filtration system has paid for itself. Then the rest is just savings, and it's amazing how it adds up after awhile. Just do it.

Those Plantdrive systems are good and the price of the vegmax filter is pretty darn good. Good to know there is a installer in your area, few years ago I tried to place a mock up of a Vormax in different locals under the hood of the Deli. Tough to locate it near the engine.

And what's wrong with old VW's, we sold our last westie 6 years old and still miss it? We'd would love to find a better than new, old westie with the 1.6 diesel.

Cheers

Hey Dave,
trip was great, we loaded 3 todlers and four adults with all our gear for 1 week (plus about 5 boxes about 1x1.5 feet. for my cousin in calgary).
medicine hat and back. apart from a little black smoke up the coke which was remedied by 3rd. gear and 75 kph. I find that fuel economy is better than i expected and we filled up about every 350-400kms (we could have gone farther but we just picked up the van the day before the trip and wasn't sure how long the gas gage sits on 1/4 tank )with a cost of $35-$40 with more hwy driving than usual. average speed was about 95km never more than 115km at just a hair over 3000 rpm. its an automatic. we all agreed that the back seats are more comfortable than the front but hey those back seats are tough to beat.
see you around town dave mines in the pics early in this post.
