I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I am an artist and graphic designer with a serious crush on this amazing vehicle.
I haven't found my own Delica yet, but am currently going through the necessary stages to hopefully finding the right one for me. Can you help? So far I have had little luck tracking down a low-roof with the big sun roof option. I have garage limitations and would really like to keep it out of the rain when it's not in use, as much as possible. Realistically though, I would consider street parking if the right crystal roof came along. I'm also rather smitten with the white ones. They make my jaw drop whenever i see one, and there are SO many in Vancouver these days it seems. I'm hoping someone out there might have some tips on where to look or might know someone who has one for sale or one coming over from Japan soon. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
There is so much to research and know before buying and I'm taking my time trying to find the right one.
Thanks so much to all of you for posting so much great information on this site! It is so very much appreciated!
Looking forward to joining your ranks soon!

Hi Cinders,
Welcome to the Community.
I havent seen many with the sun roof (maybe 1 or 2) so you might need to compromise on that, and get it done aftermarket. Also most of the white delicii are high roof crystal lite ("Stewart" in North Van owns a low roof white). I would focus on getting a van in good condition mechanically, rather than colour. Have you asked MardyDelica of Amazing Autos, or Japanoid, to have their contacts in Japan keep an eye out for you.
Hope to see you at one of our Deli-Meats soon.
Christine.

Re: Hello fellow Delica lovers
Thanks Mardy and Christine for your feedback and information!
After much consideration I have decided to forgo the garage parking in favour of street park, and as such have decided on focusing my search on a high crystal roof in good mechanical condition and with low kms. I hope to find the right one within the next couple of months as I am eager to get out there, have some fun traveling around, and maybe meeting up with some other Delica owners out on the road this summer. Would also very much like to take it out to Tofino in mid July!!!
If anyone has any information on available Delis that might fit my needs, I would love to hear from you!
Thanks again for making this such a valuable and interesting forum!

Please check out www.japanroadtrip.blogspot.com under mitsubishi inventory I have a beautiful one here, but the only problem is that you would have to wait until June to receive it. I am a bit negotiable on the price and am willing to send video and offer a guarantee of it's condition. I don't think you'll find a better one out there for the price.

Re: Hello fellow Delica lovers
Thanks Del Big Rig! I actually had a look at those earlier today. They're not exactly what I'm looking for, however, one of the vehicles on the Niseko site, linked on your JRT page, really caught my eye. Is that your site as well? I'm quite taken with the silver one under '7-seater 4WD'. It's beautiful! I'm not sure of the status of that vehicle or the details as the date stamps and information are somewhat confusing.
I have to be honest, I really am in love with the white Delicas, and this silver one is just stunning (unless of course it is white and just a grey photo :) These ones take my breath away! I know the mechanical is the most important, but I am hoping to find exactly what I'm looking for in all regards, if at all possible. I am not in a big rush, so I can afford a bit of time and hope the right one comes along with enough patience and perseverance. A 7-seater with swivel chairs is a must, as is automatic and diesel, and ideally would also like sliding windows if possible. Low kms is of course also a big selling point. Maybe you have something available somewhere that fits these ideals? Anyone...?
Thanks for all of your help so far! The search continues... I have hope.

Re: Hello fellow Delica lovers
I agree the silver is by far the nicest color, but unfortunately very rare and that one sold months ago. White is your safest bet. I do have a white one which is not posted. It's a 1989 (old style that I prefer as the headlights are readily available anywhere in Canada and the shape has an old school look to it) but unfortunately it has some rust (repairable). It runs beautifully and is super clean inside with 130,000kms, 5-speed manual with crystal lite roof (all working too!). If you could deal with rust repair (which I could get done here for a good price with photos of the job as it goes), I'm sure it would serve you well for many years. I'm willing to let this go for a super good price if you are interested. Photos and video are not a problem.

Re: Hello fellow Delica lovers
Thanks Clayton! Unfortunately I will definitely need an automatic. The RHD will be enough for me to be cautious about without having to shift gears with my left.
Thanks for the heads-up though!
