MORE PRAISE FOR CVI AUTO!

Post by chrisbouchard »

Got the Deli tune yesterday and then drove to penticton. WOWOWOWOWOWOOOWOWOWOWOOWOWOW words cant describe my pleasure with the work, service, and demeanor of both Butch and Edwin at CVI. I was hanging over them all morning with my camera taking pictures and asking questions, definitely in the way!! Not once did i feel like i had a dumb question, or that i was being a nusance. These guys are uber pro. They took the time to show me around the inner workings of my van, and point out simple do-it-yourself preventative maintenance aswell, I couldn't have asked for more!

I hereby claim the record for "THE DIRTIEST INJECTORS BUTCH HAS EVER PULLED OUT OF A DELICA". i WISH i had shot a before and after video clip of my injectors performance on the pressure setting machine as it was impressive.

I use to call my van a bus because it accelerated and handled hills like a bus, but after that tune I feel like dubbing it the deli-rarri!

every deli owner needs this work done, it will be the best 350 bucks you've spent I swear!

Also ran into Christine a.k.a. tardisdeli while there. It was great meeting some of the lower mainland Deli owners, especially one with a Delica only campsite!!

GO AND GET A DELI TUNE, IT WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT YOUR VAN.

-Chris.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU CVI Automotive,

I am going to get this (the Deli-Tune) done pretty soon too.... the Van is running alright, but start-ups (when cold) remain a very dirty and smokey affair... plus I consider my fuel milage very poor... I get only about 350km's per filling (my long gone 1971 Chevy Impala got about the same milage - but I could lay rubber for a block on that thing...)

Also I am starting to think that my IP is leaking a bit... Every now and then, I find what appear to be fresh oily-looking stains under my Van - I put my finger into one and smelled it... didn't smell like diesel - but I don't know at which rate Diesel looses it's smell when laying on the pavement.

I understand that leakage on the IP will only occur with the motor running - as I normally don't run it when it's standing, most of the diesel (if it does indeed leak) would be lost when cruising - the few drops that I see now and then must either leak out right when I arrive and let it run for 30 sec's or so to cool off the turbo or it is maybe from another car...

In any case, my next visit at CVI will include...

Deli-Tune
IP-Check - if needed overhaul
Oil and Filter-change
Tightening of suspension / steering as I do get the odd "clunk" when turning the weel upon parking etc...

Not looking forward to the bill - but looking forward to the results...

Cheers, Chris

My wife and I both love our van Duke and had always thought we had bought a very good, mechanicaly sound vehicle. I was having an issue with hard starting in the morning, the van would shake like a dog coming out of the lake. We took it in for Butch to look over for three reasons, aircare is coming up, a trip to the Yukon in the summer, and piece of mind. Butch looked it over on the lift and showed me some of the things I can do and what to look out for in the future. Most everything looked good except for some oil leaking, most likely from the valve cover gasket. After asking me some questions on the performance of the van, Butch said it's one of two things, glow plugs or injectors. The plugs were fine, so off with the injectors. Knowing this would take awhile and (I think seeing the look on my wife's face) he offered to take us up to Ikea, her face lit up, "Sure!" Well....... damn you Butch!!!!! she wants a car just like yours!!!!
Anyways, he phone's back a few hours later and says the van is done and he'll pick us up. The wife is looking for his car, I saw the van. It pulls into the parking spot, and right away we both notice it's much quieter. An injector was "sticky" and the valves were adjusted, which made an already very good vehicle that much better. On the way home, I could accelerate up the hills instead of maintaining or slowing down slightly, passing cars on the highyway was quicker too. Butch, the cold starts are like I thought it should be, no more chugging to get up to idle. You gave us what we really wanted, piece of mind. Thank you! Your customer service is top notch, just like your mechanical skills.
Thanks again
Chris & Les

Chris, you laid claim to the dirtiest injectors, I can lay claim to one of the quickest Delica's Butch has driven. And now even quicker :-D .

I had the same feeling when I drove Butch's van. I actually asked him if we can swap engines.
Btw, 3 of 4 injectors were gunked really bad on my van.
