Oh ~ my ~ God.... :O

Post by FalcoColumbarius »

I was driving in North Van the other week and was making a left turn at a traffic intersection. The light had turned amber and I was about to clear the junction when I saw a small white car accelerating into the amber light, so I stopped my turn. As he was passing me I resumed my turn, at which point he stopped abruptly in the middle of the intersection. I don't know why as there was nothing in front of him for another thirty odd feet and he could have easily cleared the junction. I braked as he was still inside my turn. I looked into my mirror and could see that we were touching but I hadn't felt or heard anything. At this point he drove off (I suspect he didn't feel anything, either). I drove to where I was going to, which was right around the corner and getting out I wondered if I had received a scratch and would have to cut polish it out ~ so I had a look. I was dumb struck. The bottom part of my sliding door had collapsed in. I was in shock.

I started looking for prices for body work and they all ranged from $1,200.00 to $1,600.00, which included lots of bondo and a paint job. The next thing I did was start looking into repairing it myself. I did manage to pull the collapsed area out but it was still all dented up. The body shops had all told me that the metal had been stretched and would have to be heated up with a torch and hammered back (which would destroy the paint job, of course). When I took the rocker panel off I could see that where the metal was bulging in the upper part of the dented area it was compensated in the lower part and that it wasn't stretched, just displaced.

I was talking to Butch at CVI who had a look at the panel and told me about this guy who performed magic tricks and that I should really talk to him, which is the reason for this post:

No bondo. No painting. Three hours. $450.00.

His name is Jose, the name of his company is P.D.R. Systems Inc. (Paintless Dent Removal). His phone number is (604)-803 0477 and he will come to you.

Jose is amazing and if you need a repair done to your van I would not hesitate for a nano second to recommend him.

Falco.

Nice job. My buddy used him a few times. Top notch work.

I had a dent in the same place along the bottom sliding door.

Body shop did it. $450. Must be the magic number ! :-D

Wow Falco what are you doing with Lil'Bitchi ;)

A guy from Dent King http://www.dentking.biz did the same with our front door, which were kicked by a bum a few weeks ago. All the quotes I got from body shops were over $500, but the magic of Paintless Dent Removal fixed it for $200 and absolute nothing is left from this huge bent.

I bumped into Falco down at Brazza this evening (no pun intended), and went out to look at his van. It was dark, but I ran my hand over the place where the damage used to be. Couldn't tell any difference, except for one tiny spot by the trim (no one would notice it unless they are looking for it). The guy did a fine job.

Tell me about it, I had just got the deep finish base coat of wax on her then this happened. During the time it took me to put this all together it has rained acid and my base coat has runneth over, so I have to do it again. This time I hope to get the high resin & sealer on, too.

That will disappear before to long. Jose told me that if there were any discrepancies he would deal with it.

Hey Falco,

I'm really glad PDR 'jose' really worked well for you. With the way you take good care of your baby, you need good quality people to do the job and get it back into shape.

:-D
