Missing a hose from inside the hatch behind drivers seat?

Post by frootloops »

I seem to be missing a small hose from inside the hatch behind the drivers seat. The hose for my air filter is there, but I'm missing the other one. Could it be for my rear heater?

I got to work the other day and noticed I had heat in the front but not the back.

Assuming you are talking about the missing hose from like the one in the link below: It is not missing, it was omitted on purpose. As for not having heat, if your upper vents are not blowing heat that is normal. It should be coming from the lower heater duct on the side below the controls. There has been a few theads about the "missing hose/pipe" but check out Mystery Machine's post for the best description:

Other particulates that are allowed to fall out is water, like when you are fording a deeper stream. As well as the gap leading into the air filter is a dust trap with a one way rubber valve at the bottom of the filter that would allow water to exit but not return. I believe this is well demonstrated by Mystery Machine's post regarding the flood in Gloucestershire.

The rear heat/AC is a bit weird. Hot air only comes out of the lower vents, cold (AC) air only comes out of the top vents. So basically, you should move both the temp slider and the "where air goes" sliders together. Both to one end gives hot air down, to the other end gives cold air up. The other slider for AC that goes up/down decides how much AC is running, and the fan button parallels the one on the dash, so you can turn it on/off from the driver's seat.

I normally have mine set at fan speed 2, and the other controls for either full heat, or full cool, and turn it on/off from the driver's seat.

Hope this helps
