Battery Size

I have been looking on the site and can't seem to fine the battery size needed.(Lazy or tired, not sure which) I just finished perusing the Aussie and UK site and saw batteries we don't have here. Anyways, anyone know off hand what is needed for a Super Exceed dual battery set-up?

I use two deep cycle Globelites at 550 cold cranking amps apiece. I purchased them at "Polar Batteries" on Boundary Road, on the Burnaby side.

Wow, did you buy two of those? I'd love a pair, but at $200 it is hard to justify.

I got them at trade price from our battery supplier at work, just after I had already bought, but not used, 2 from Costco. Interestingly, the ones from our supplier at wholesale were (I think), about $158.00 each, and they were larger and had more amps capacity than the Costco ones at $180.00, so I returned the Costco ones. Luckily the poles are oriented just right to match the Deli's configuration.

I needed them as I'm running a 1700W inverter.

Seems cheap compared to the $500.00 I just spent to rebuild the injectors and the $200.00 it will cost to dynamically time it.

For the Globelites I paid $150ish for the pair. The last time I owned a Globelite it lasted me ten years, two Chevy 3/4 tonnes and two Voyagers. Seems like a good investment.

BTW, Maybe it's just me, but it seems like every Kirkland Signature SLA Battery that I have purchased has gone back within the year (had about a dozen of them). I've got one in my pickup that I've returned twice in the same number of years. The first time it was $79.00. Next time it was $89.00. Last week when I returned it again, it was $99.00. Maybe it's me that's raising the prices with all my returns!

You can fit 2 of the 24 series batteries in, or one 27 series turned sideways. We use one 27 series deep cycle, important to use the deep cycle if you use your accessories when the engine not running (ie when camping) as if you discharge a normal battery too many times or too much it won't recharge.

any group 24 batt will fit. I just got a new one and it was 600cca, turns over quickly. I have isolated one battery for starting and one for my dc fridge and convertor. works great. there are many 4 cyl diesels that only have one batt so I figured it should be okay. I had to move some wires around to get it to work off the single starting batt but all is good.

Does anyone know the specs on the Dynagrid 105D31R battery from Japan? It's probably the one that was in my van when it was imported, and a mechanic told me it's "undersized for that vehicle." But I want specs so I know I'm replacing it with something that's an improvement.

WFIW, the Dynagrid is working just fine, though I don't typically drive in sub-zero, so I'm not asking it to work too hard.

I'm sorry, I've been to the acronym dictionary and all I'm getting is "Whitest Flour In The World" or "World Federation of Industrial Workers"... just not coming to me.

Looking at my post from back then, in 2008 ~ I really thought I was onto something.

What I'm using now is Edmonds Batteries (in Burnaby), giving me a combined 1500 cold cranking amps between the two batteries (in parallel). Not deep cycle but pure starters. They are good with the pricing, as well and were very helpful to me. When I first got my wagon, I went to a place called Performance Car Stereo to get my stereo installed. Once it was in we listened to it for around forty minutes in the shop, without the engine running. Then I tried to start the motor and it wouldn't start. I couldn't understand it because the volts were fine when I checked them. It was then explained to me that, although the volts were fine there were not enough amperes stored in the battery. I suspect your battery(ies) are like the ones that came with my wagon ~ just enough to start in temperate weather. I'd recommend getting replacement batteries and I would favour Edmonds over Polar, IMHO.

Canadian Tire sells a USA-made MOT27 for $130.

Not sure which of these is the lesser of two evils.

The Edmonds Batteries are US made, cost me less than two hundred bucks for the pair and the warranty that they gave me was for eight years, the first three at 100%. I don't work for them and I'm not getting a kickback, just think they are a very good deal worth looking at.

For what it's worth (good tune)... I guess that a spoonerful of sugar helps the measure go down, eh? soooo.... keep on forking them out, for good measure.
