Nice job you can drive forever with that as your tank :-) I didn't even attempt to fit my totes in the back, as I have a friend with a cube truck :-). Do you know if anymore of those are available? A biodiesel producing friend of mine is looking to increase his capacity.

Of course, if you FILL it with WVO, that would be more than 300kg, right over the rear wheels :o

I would think it would be closer to 1000kg. Would make for good traction thought :-)

I am curious, how much are they to obtain, and where do you get them from?

UNITS! I always did get picked up for that in math class.

You're right, at 250 gallons, that would put it at 1136 litres, which would be mean approximately 870kg! Traction, for sure. :?

870? If you filled it with water, it would be 1136 kg. Is WVO that much lighter than water?

those totes are a dime a dozen up here in PR! well, $140 from the farm store and $100 from a neighbour who is also a feed supplier.

i didnt know they were so hard to get, maybe i should try to arrange something for my fellow delica.ca members

Someone should figure the distance you'd get with that much weight and fuel onboard? Where to store your gear though.

I found a reference to olive oil which estimated 7.7 lbs per gallon... so I went from there.

Same thing in the submarine: we actually get heavier the more fuel we burn (water-displacement fuel system). This makes it tricky for compensating, because the longer we go without fueling, the less water we have to use to correct the trim (because we've already got a bunch more in than when we started)! Neat, eh?

I need two of these and I live on the island... Victoria.

I'm starting a small WVO co-op and I need all the bits and bobs... so if anyone on the south-side island area has a spare tote, pump, heater &tc... let me know.

Any tips or advice would be helpful.

I already have my source for oil.

Jonny5ive, in Nanaimo, there is an esso commercial area, right down near the ferries at departure bay. They have a few of these I saw for sale the last time I was down there.

Hey,
I will check that out today on the way to work.
I will feel like a bit of a dumbass if they are so close to my house,
I have been all over hell's half acre looking for them.

Right on! 8-)
