Yep. It left Japan today. AWESOME! We are looking forward to it's arrival. Supposed to be in port May 27, will be fixed up and ready to pick up from Japanoid June 6.

The longest days indeed. But they are exciting long days, and each day brings your van a little closer. Paradoxically, the longest days for me were once the van arrived. I did the compliance work myself, and it took me two weeks to fit this, and all the inspections, in around my regular life. While, it was great to have the van in the driveway, to be able to look out the window and see it, start it up, etc. - it killed me to not be able to use it!
I finally got everything complied, inspected, and insured it yesterday. Since then, I've been thinking of every possible reason to go for a drive!
But you know, all the waiting really built up the anticipation. I often wonder if I would feel as passionate about my van if I had of just bought it here already complied. In the end, it probably doesn't really matter how you get your van, just that you get it. And now you can relax a little knowing that it will be here in time for camping season.

Re: The Saga of (almost) new Delica owners (ON CANADIAN SOIL!!)
Just had word from Japanoid - it arrived in port yesterday! If all the maintenance and inspection goes according to schedule, we'll be driving our Delica home June 6... only 8 more days. Awesome.

Good for you! I'm sure you're quite anxious and probably already have trips or modifications planned... My offer for your mud flaps still holds!
And you got to let us know where Pinkfingers comes from?!?
Cheers,
David

I probably would, but my wife is quite smitten by the mud flaps.delicat wrote:Good for you! I'm sure you're quite anxious and probably already have trips or modifications planned... My offer for your mud flaps still holds!

"Pinkfinger" is the name of a Pink Panther short cartoon - a bit of a spoof on James Bond. We are both James Bond fans and Pink Panther fans, so we chose "The Pinkfingers" as our online family moniker... Started using it on the Geocaching website, and it just stuck with us.
