Maple Ridge Area - Thinking of buying

Hi all!

I have gained a lot of information from this forum about these fantastic vehicles. I am really interested in getting one, but I need to ask a question that I haven't been able to find the answer for.

Having two children and possibly planning for another, it is important that I find out how I could have tether anchors installed in these seats. From searching and reading It seems that the best way to hold the seat down is to use the clips that come with the kids seats to tighten the belts up so they hold the seat down, however I haven't seen any information regarding the tether.

Also, if anyone has any info about the diesel engine that they use I would be greatful. I am still trying to decide whether diesel or gas is the way to go.

Hi, welcome to the club,
i drive delica for the past 4 yrs. i dont have a problem with this engine when it comes to reliability of this diesel engine, they are very good no overheating issue like most of toyota.
as for my opinion diesel is the way to go than gasoline,
gasoline to many problem. this diesel is easy to fix as this delica diesel engine is not electronic injection system like most of toyota.

Just to let everyone know I have found a Delica. A 92 Exceed!!

I still have to wait a little over a week to pick it up.

We have mixed a few names together, between the Lil' Toaster and the Millennium Falcon. Probably call her "The Millennium Toaster"

Some of the pre-'91 Deli's (like ours )only have lap belts in the back, and even the "H" clips won't work on the belts on the Capt.s chairs. Part way through '91 they started putting in 3-point belts, so your '92 should have them.

So, My Delica is great!! A '92 Exceed with Super Exceed seats and mirrors! Purchased from TKT in Richmond and serviced by Mardy!! Green over grey!

I love it!!

So, first drive home. Sitting up high feels great! The only actual small problem with being on the right is making left turns where people are driving too darn fast in the opposing lane, just because I can't lean and see if anyone is coming, I have to move out farther. But other than that, no problems whatsoever!

My first big trip will be in two weeks to Vernon to visit family and I will be stopping by Salmon Arm to pick up a WVO kit and tank. The Vormax one!

So we were going to call her "The Millenium Toaster" but then my wife said "Van Diesel" sounded better, Hmmm.... I think I'll stick with The MT.

SpyderCS: I agree with you, "MT" is a better name because who wants to call their vehicle "VD"? If you did that, you'd have to explain how you got it, whether or not it's cleared up, how much the lotion costs, ya know, all those embarassing sorts of explanations that one has to give when the inevitable question arises...

Sorry.....but what is a WVO kit and tank???

WVO: Waste Vegetable Oil.

With proper conversion, a diesel engine can run on WVO once it has been properly filtered. Basically, you install the kit in your diesel engine then you go to KFC or wherever else they use oil to deep fry their food. You take this WVO from them, filter it and fill up your converted vehicle with it. Then, Voila! free fuel! And great for the environment as you're recycling as well...
