L400 High Roof Spoiler

Post by CREGAN »

I have the need for speed and before I resort to building one out of plywood I thought I would see if any of you chaps have one you are willing to part with, or know someone who does. Colour does not matter. Thanks

The De Havilland Mosquito was made from plywood and it went really fast. Although the fact that it was powered by 54 litres of RR Merlin engine (two 27s) may have some baring on the matter.

Falco.

Nobody has one? I guess I will have to make a trip to RONA. Maybe build a ghetto snorkel while I am at it. Here are a few more prototypes I am pondering"

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with cardboard and packing tape!

A cardboard bodykit/spoiler theme would be an awesome idea for a meet. Picture the IKEA parking lot filled with Delicas looking all corrugated fast and furious. Lol that would be a hoot.

That is a brilliant idea! It would draw even more attention. Only problem with this idea is that here in Edmonton, where the "meet" usually consists of one or two, you would just end up looking like a douche!

We did something similar to a friends 84 Ford Tempo as an April Fools joke. One route (with cardboard on the roof being held down by hand) we were chased by a white van full of people yelling "white pride" and after reversing around most of Tsawwassen, we managed to get home and call the police. Then we headed back out to complete our mission!

O.K., now back to serious. If anyone or any shop has either a spoiler for a high roof (any color) or a set of curtains for an L400 please drop me a PM. BigBird is in the lower mainland right now so he has graciously offered to smuggle it back for me. Let me know!
