HIGH IDLE - FAN SPEED??
HIGH IDLE - FAN SPEED??
Hi everyone, just noticed that when I have my heater on high, my van's idle tends to jump up to 1600 from about 800-900, just wondering if this is normal. thanks

Yep, there's a vacuum advance on the injection pump to increase idle speed when there's high current draw. IT may be a system that advances the idle only when the air conditioning and fan are turned on, check your a/c button maybe.

Thanks for the reply, My A/C is definatly off maybe there is a problem with the sensor. Does this happen to anyone else?

Hello, I can't tell you if the advance works with A/C or power draw - though I think it's power draw. Ours don't advance with the just the A/C, but does with A/C and the fan turned on high. Pop your seat and check where the red #1 arrow goes, the little bar may be set just too close. The bar has a nut, and a lock nut, that adjusts it length. The manual said to set it so the idle revs came up to 1500rpm when the AC was turn on.
