Delica Manual OCR'd

I spent a bit of time running all the manuals through an OCR process. You can now search them for keywords. Personally this has been something I've wanted for a while.

Only catch is that it is a pretty big file. I don't know much about compressing PDF's. Perhaps somebody else on the forum can try to compress it down to a more reasonable size.

Either way, I wanted to share what I have so far. Download with a torrent client. Hopefully this proves useful to someone.

Okay Jason, I thought you were going to e-mail this to me but no matter ~ I downloaded it and I need a new programme to read it ~ is there any programme that you recommend?

Falco, I figured it could be shared for whom ever wanted an OCR'd copy. I assume you can't open the torrent file to initiate the transfer? I would recommend a program called Transmission:

If you have the full version of acrobat there is a compression setting in that. If not feel free to pm me as i can compress it and re-post it on the board.

I'll seed it for a few months and after that I'll seed on request if anybody wants it. Perhaps I could get it down in size and just offer a regular http download. I for one am finding this very useful to be able to search through the manuals for keywords. It has already saved me a lot of time.

Okay, I went to the site to download and it gave me many options for Unix and Mac. Which one am I looking for that will work with XP?

Don't know much about windows but I've heard this app is quite good:

Utorrent works well for me. I'm using Windows 7 (I don't like downloading things on my Mac but don't mind if I accidentally give my pc a virus). Careful if you decide to use it for downloading other things since I have inadvertently downloaded a few viruses, not as many as with limewire though.

Sorry guys, we're at the mercy of my bandwidth. I just have a generic broadband account via shaw.

That is the beauty of a torrent though the more people the faster it goes. Perhaps the 15 or so people that have downloaded so far could so graciously seed for a while?

That said, when I get some time I will try to compress and get a more reasonable size file out there.

So again sorry folks. I'll try to figure out a way to compress when I get some time. Not going to be for couple days though, I'm going to be at sombrio beach for a few days. The torrent will be up should you want to download it.
