Re: Another one of my 'name that sound' questions
Thanks guys I'll check both tonight - I didn't bother checking the power steering as the sound wasn't really a squeely-high pitched sound that I usually associate with power steering, more of a lower toned droneing....but will post if I find anything. EDIT-Just realized too it's really only when I'm...

Another one of my 'name that sound' questions
Hi guys, Seems like every couple months I post a what's this sound question, and this month is no different. On cool mornings/evenings after the van has been sitting for some time, when I'm in reverse and begin to move with the wheel cranked (reversing out of a parking spot eg.) I get a strange droa...

Re: Squeal from Motor
I'd check the power steering fluid too to see if you're low. Not sure about the fan/belt tension. Would be interested to know though if it's supposed to slip - anyone?? I had a squeek\squealy belt that turned out to be the alternator belts being too loose. maybe double check that it's belts are tigh...

September and already a block heater discussion-a new record!
Other than a block heater one of the best things you can do for a cold weather deli is lighter oil - 5W or 0W..

Excellent Service at CVI
Hi guys, A little late in posting this but just wanted to say thanks to CVI for the work they did to our Deli a few weeks back. Stopped in as part of our vacation out to the island to have a few things worked on Deli Tune Leaky rear diff (where the drive shaft enters the diff) Grinding flywheel when...

Nice - that would be great. Mine still sticks once in a while when closing it - kinda half catches....
Glad you got it sorted.

Kinda funny, checking out the One Day on Earth Site/Map - ( http://archive.onedayonearth.org/videos/searchByKeyword ) http://archive.onedayonearth.org/images/oneday_world_sm.jpg Zoomed in to Alberta/BC, clicked on the Kimberly map point to see a short vid of Kimberly BCs community Garden. 20 seconds...

Re: Maintenance Light Reset?
Hey david, can you describe the light- my L300 definiyely doesn't have a check engine light.
Is yours gas or diesel?
Its not the exclamation mark with a circle around it is it? That's your brake fluid light.

Re: Van trouble in Calgary
I was wondering if maybe that was your transmission dipstick you were referring to - I did the same thing for a few weeks when I got my L300. That's good news, as already metioned by the other guys, bet it's a minor fuel/water/air issue.... THere's another shop called ProActive in Calgary, I had a g...

Re: Van trouble in Calgary
Look at your oil on the dip stick and in the filler cap.
Is it regular oily colour or milky/creamy colour?
The knocking and white smoke makes me think of head gasket.
EDiT - Check coolant level too...

What are BC Collector Plates for?
Hey guys,
Just walked past a really nice VW Westy - had BC "Collector Plates" on it. What are these for - is there any benefit to having them or are they kinda like personalized plates?

Cool!
I'm too far from Van to help.
But just make sure you slam Delica's and all RHDs in the article cause they're so dangerous to the public - as every Delica/RHD article I've ever read does.

Re: freaking bloody oilleak
Hey M - I guess I meant an actual car wash instead of spraying all that chemical/oil off into the local storm drain. Since the car wash places have proper oil/water separators. Also, it's no problem at most hand car wash places, as every one I've seen have a setting where the water comes out lightly...
