well, there you have it, if you don't buy optional insurance, the vehicle doesn't matter, so make sure that you take the optional part of your insurance to a different company! (or self insure for that part, I do.)all cost more to insure when you buy optional insurance

Re: Encouraging sign from Autoplan?
I get the basic coverage from ICBC , and optional from Canadian Northern Shield. Unfortunately CNS does not cover the Delica. Anyone know if the other insurance companies do ?

Re: Encouraging sign from Autoplan?
When my van got written off (100% the other drivers fault as deemed by the authorities) two things happened. 1) It made the local radio news within the hour, reported as "RHD involved in accident" and 2) ICBC had to report it as a RHD specific accident. Not who's fault, or what happened, but more specifically that it was another RHD in an accident. (i was talking to the adjuster).marsgal42 wrote:My sentiments exactly. I just can't see the accident rate for Delicas being significant. They are slow, sturdy, and simple to repair. Their visibility is so good that driver position is a non-issue.

So anyhow, all that to say that I am skeptical as to how/what statistically they are conguring up. My Delica had no need of being reported in the accident as RHD, the person that hit it could have just as easily hit a lightpost and it would have been just as significant. I could understand if it was a 50/50 collision or something. But it 100% the other drivers fault.
