This one would be enough to convert me, let alone some of the other Delica Owners Club Japan videos out there...

The other thing that is going to make me buy a Delica is the community here on Delica.ca - that way I know I have a support network if something goes wrong, when I am here 2000 miles (give or take) away from my tools and usual workshop.
Why did you buy a Delica?

Re: Why did you buy a Delica?
My grandfather gave us a boat (and a cabin you need a boat to get to) so we needed the most fuel efficient vehicle that could tow the boat, within the $10k range. I had my eye on the Delica ever since a friend of mine did some body work for his friend's Delica. Small diesel engine seemed like the fuel economy/towing ability solution and the van would be great for camping. Now with the price of fuel skyrocketing WVO would be a big consideration too.

Re: Why did you buy a Delica?
1. Perfect vehicle for bombing around town and enough room for those trips to Costco
2. Perfect vehicle for transporting campers and wannabe campers to the great beyond
3. enough power to get over the 'Hat and the Alberni hump
4. don't have to take out a second mortgage to buy one
5. totally cool looking vehicle
6. fun to drive
7. hilarious to see people's reaction when they look over and no one is sitting in the "drivers seat" when your tooling down the road
8. even more hilarious to see people's reaction when they look over and the person sitting in the "drivers seat" is reading a book or snoozing.
9. you get to meet lots of other cool deli owners and compare toys/mods
etc. etc. etc.

I think that is a very good reason. Have you ever asked various Deli pilots what they do for a living?kb&2dogs wrote: 9. you get to meet lots of other cool deli owners and compare toys/mods
