Syncro Vanagons are actually freakishly amazing offroad in stock format, especially the euro/africa spec versions with front and rear difflocks. Their big downfall is the gasser engine has a habit of blowing headgaskets every 100,000km and the fuel injection electronics are HORRIBLE. However get yourself a diesel from Europe and you have a reliable unstoppable and slow 4x4 (or one of the many engine conversion kits available here in Canada). However unlike JDM its pretty difficult to find low milage, rust free, well priced units to import from Europe.

Not to hijack from the Delica but I think everyone here loves seeing action shots of 4x4 vans regardless if its mitsubishi, vw or volvo so here is a site that has some aweome Syncro Vanagon videos. Need some of you guys to start making Delica videos.

[some of my favorites vids are: De grotste lul van’t stad, DANGER, SWIMCRO !!!!(factory intake snorkel goes to top of roof btw)].
