Re: Distant Relative
We met the owner of the treeplanter Canter today and got a couple more shots of his rig. We were both a little busy so couldn't chat long, but he was sure proud of his ride. 1988 and I am pretty sure he said the motor is a 4.5 (or there abouts
) liter and that a year or two later it was increased to a 5 or even 6 and change liter. He has modfided the front bumper and bars and the snorkel-looking thing there on its front left side. The ladder is cool too. Hazel looked a little like a city-girl parked near "The Slug" Very cool

Re: Distant Relative
I was taking dog on his morning walk and spotted this mini version of the Canter. Veeeery cute! I've seen lots of these little trucks but this one is the first mitsubishi I've seen. Funny we met the big Canter yesterday afternoon and now this tiny one this morning

Love it! Those kei pickups are cute as hell.
Neatest one I've seen around town (Burnaby) is a Honda Acty that appears to be owned by a yard waste cleanup firm - it has a box on the back with rakes and brushes sticking out of it.
If that's all you need, why drive (and pay to run) anything bigger? You listening, Transport Canada?

Re: Distant Relative
Got another one! Came home this afternoon to find this crane in our neighbour's driveway. 2wd, 4 and change liter motor (assuming it's the same as the the tree planter's big 4x4). The owner, Mitch, bought it to start a business out of Royston, so if you live near there and need something heavy lifted give him a call at 250 336-2162 or 250 898-7426 - He is a relative, after all...

When i was on my trip to california a few weeks back I saw one of these (left hand drive!! ) being used in a campground in a national park !
They were using it for park maintenance work. I did not have time to get a picture. I also saw a U.S., gas ,non 4x4,lhd, version of our vans.

Today I looked out my work window and saw a Mitsu Fuso (the NAmerican version of the Canter). Landscaping truck, towing trailer with backhoe. Noticed it was 4WD. As it passed from view going west, a Skyline came into view going east. LOL More and more people getting decent vehicles!
