New from Montana and thanks!

Post by rockjok »

I finally purchased a Delica after a few years of looking. I'd like to thank forum members for all the great posts, tips, and technical information that's been compiled. After a months I'm getting a handle on where fuses and many other components possibly needing inspection/repair are located are located.

Yesterday I replaced the steering column combination switch. Without forum posts I'd still be trying to figure out why my taillights were inop. I used a $30 ebay left hand drive switch and everything is working as described in forum posts.

My rig is a 93 Starwagon high crystal lite roof exceed. Someone, obviously not semi-clueless previous owner, did a lot of anti corrosion work, block heater, glow plug kit, a/c conversion, and I assume tuning. The picture shows notes near the engine tho I'm still researching what these settings mean. (Any comments?)

The EGR is gone and I've got a Glowshift 3in1 gauge yet to install. There is obvious leakage around exhaust plate and I'm trying to find gaskets, new drilled/tapped plates and fittings to install the gauge.

I'm proceeding to do a minimal camper conversion so I can play "snowbird" from Montana and do some geology in the southwest deserts with the ability to reach areas my old low-slung 2wd van couldn't reach.

Anyway, thanks again to the group, Rob (Rockjok), current owner of "the Brick".
