Sounds like she wants to go fast and make use of the store and go seating!? I've heard from owners that they cost quite a bit in maintenance even when nearly brand new though (parts being cheap but failing often so more for the mechanically minded owner). The Nissan Quests look nice and similar in shape and size with added reliability and ability to keep a Japanese fleet.doodah wrote:Put a for sale sign on my 96 L400 Jasper....wife wants a Dodge Caravan
Gonna keep my Exceed tho.
Any recommendations on best way to advertise sale? (It is already on Delica Trader)

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
Yesterday had to get a boost to start my Gen II. I proceeded to take it for a spin to charge the battery up before parking it for the rest of the day. During this drive, a lovely old lady coming out of a Shell station did not see me coming down the road an collided with my passenger door. I walked around the van and saw that her bumper was smashed and hanging off along with her headlight. Her licence plate and various other front end pieces were strewn out along the road. I feared for the worst for the damage to my new to me Delica, but was pleasantly surprised that there was only a scuff mark on the door with perhaps a slight dent. Impressed at the solidness of the Delica, which I will forthwith name my BEAST.

Did she hit a running board? What could take a blow that hard and shrug it off?
Glad you and BEAST are ok!

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
I attached my home made trailer to my home made hitch and pulled 800 lbs of scrap to the yard. The scales in and out tell me that the trailer itself is about 1000 lbs. The Delica handled it all with no issue. I may have to install the brake controller and find 5000 lbs to pull.

An Open Letter of Apology:
Dear ShaunVanRamen (my van),
I am truly sorry to have to leave you at home these next few days but the weather is really nice right now and I have just gotten The Grey Cat Shaft (my motorcycle) fixed and need to ride.
Please do not be offended as we love you both equally.

So I guess this should really be in the thread "What you didn't do with..."

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
Thanks to my buddy Monsieur DeliCat I found a way to "stick it to the man"!
I have a British made trailer that packages up into itself, tips on end and rolls on casters through doors into underground storage, really handy for apartment living. In order to successfully do this I must retract the tongue so the platform can roll into the box. I was debating bringing the trailer on a ferry trip to Mayne Island, where I'm working because I would get dinged with the extra charge for being over the twenty foot length. DeliCat, God bless his soul, made the most crucial observation: Shorten the tongue before going through the booth. Totally brillo! Put me just inside twenty feet and saved me twenty bucks!
Merci, Frere!
Falco.
