Front brake line parts numbers?
Pulled out of the driveway the other day and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor! Glad it didn't happen on the highway. Seems like the front right hose closest to the wheel is leaking. Looking at some schematics, it looks like the Mitsubishi part number is MB407106, but Mitsubishi doesn't carry that any more. Some folx have said that the part should be the same as an 86-89 Montero, but I'm looking for a confirmation.

The flexible front brake hose is in two pieces that join together at the bracket halfway along its length.
Body side half is MR129744, brake caliper side is MR129771. I don't see either part listed as being used on Montero, but a Montero brake hose might just be slightly longer (or shorter).
MB407106 is the steel tube that runs from the brake master cylinder to the right side wheel well. If that needs replacing a new one would have to be fabricated- it's not difficult, but it's fiddly.

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

Thanks Growler!
OK, so I think I got the wrong part. I went to the local shop and we found a match on a 1990 North American Mitsu Van but it looks like I got the MR129744 instead of the MR129771. I'm finally under the wheel here and now... how do I get the dang hose disconnected from the bracket?

That clip comes off. Honestly. They're a complete pain when they're rusty like that, but they *do* come off. I usually use a screwdriver to lever between the clip's lip and the brake pipe union.

Got it! Thanks!
I will update with parts and part numbers for North American folx after tomorrow... Might have some helpful info.

These came from a montero, not sure the year. They definitely work as I have one side installed and these just in case.

Great info! Just in case the externally-hosted photos go away, that's Napa Brakes part 38123 = MR129744 (body side), and Napa Brakes part 38418 = MR129771 (calliper side).

The NAPA parts search says those hoses don't fit any Montero (or Delica/Pajero/Mighty Max)... probably a jacked up website?

Also if you're replacing it, switching to steel braided might be a nice upgrade. Russel makes some that fit.

Are the brake lines the same part number on the left and the right?
