I recently purchased a 2002 Pajero Exceed with the 3.5l V6 and want to do the timing belt. I went to rock auto of course and ordered the parts for the 02 montero thinking i shared the engine. but yesterday I went for a look in the engine bay and pulled the inspection plate off the timing cover and saw that my Pajero is DOHC. The belt i orderd is a 201 tooth and i assume just my looking at it even that its too small (i could be wrong). With some resaerch, it seems the 94-96 monteros used the Dohc 6G74 and a 265 tooth belt but im wary to get it because i have a feeling its the wrong belt as well. Anyway has anyone replaced the timing belt on a 3rd gen pajero with the DOHC 6G74 here and knows which belt is best? Any info would be great. thanks guys.
