yeah... I know... I need updated pictures... I had a great opportunity a couple weeks ago at an event too... but I didn't end up getting any good pictures because I just didn't think of it.... oops...

how many different radios do u have, i count three anteni i can only Assume one is a CB.

the one on the bull-bar is CB, the front roof mount antenna is connected to a dual-band ham radio (acts as 2 radios, VHF and UHF) and the rear roof mount antenna is connected to a VHF ham radio which also covers the commercial VHF land radio bands.

generally I'm monitoring the following:
CB Radio: scanning channels 9 and 19
Dual-band Ham radio VHF side: scanning several ham radio frequencies, the aircraft emergency frequency, and truckers on the 3 LADD channels
Dual-band Ham radio UHF side: scanning Calgary Fire Dispatch and STARS air ambulance
VHF Ham radio: scanning RCMP, Calgary Hospital Emergency Radio System, provincial ambulance, and provincial fire.

future additions are to include an air-band radio and a marine radio, as well as a GPS position reporting transponder. (and possibly others...)

are they all on at once.my dads head of SAR (search and resque)in whistler, i know that when theres a search and hes got all that stuff on its super annoying.
im looking into a CB radio for my deli,they were alot more then i was expecting so im gonna wait till i got some more disposable money.even though its illegal i want to do what adrock did and get one with a PA out put so i can yell at buddies to hury up and get in the car when im waiting for them.that and mabe i coukld hook a person horn up to it and i could have the dukes of hazard sound when i went camping and what not.

nothing illegal about a PA system in a vehicle (not in any law I've seen anyway) and I plan to add one soon...

If you're just looking for CB and not too too picky you can find 'em dirt cheap at every pawn shop around.

And yes, they're all on at the same time, you get used to it and can start to listen to multiple conversations at once, and I do SAR as well, often as the primary base radio operator. scanning the frequencies that I do I often have a better idea of what's going on by the time I get to search base than the search manager does.

(though I'll admit, if the GF is in the vehicle and I'm not specifically needing to talk to someone the radios are usually off...)

Having the PA is not illegal. You can get into more trouble than you want to by using on/near public roads. Something about impersonating police on the more serious end, but mostly they just dont like it and will find a law that barely fits to ticket you from what i understand.

As with anything, the real rule you need to watch is "don't piss anybody off" if you do, they'll nail you for something no matter what equipment you have on the vehicle, and if you don't, you'll be fine. but from a legal stand point, having and even using the PA on public roads is not illegal, if they try to get you with impersonating an officer, ask them if a Delica could REALLY be mistaken for a police vehicle, and if you said anything over the PA to insinuate that you were a police officer.
