Lol!
I just felt so sorry for it sitting there... it was the first minute I saw it in that pic... like a puppy, I had to bring it home.

OK, some pics of the modified OEM panhard bar... made adjustable. Also note the extension welded into the brake hardline brace, just to the left of the diff in the first pic, and another brake hardline brace extension near the top of the wheel in pic #2:

The OEM panhard bar has zero torsional rigidity... unless you weld in pieces that turn it into a tube instead of a "U". The weakest points are the welds where it bolts in at either end. On this modified bar, the strongest area is now the center adjustable section. All that is needed to adjust it is undo the right side main bolt, turn the right half of the bar and re-insert main bolt. You can easily insert the bolt with your left hand reaching under, while gently pushing/pulling the van with your right hand on the wheel-well chassis to line it up.

I've moved this thread from Delica Modifications to Member Rides, as it's a wagon build project and a good one at that. Make it easier to find for the members in the future.

Happy Xmas!

Falco.

Thanks Falco,
Merry Christmas to you and all!

Installing a double-din touchscreen stereo deck (DVD/all-discs, USB, SD slot, hands-free phone-bluetooth, backup cam) tomorrow. Already installed an 8" sub in the hatch door (along with a backup camera), powered by a bridged Alpine amp. Replaced the oem dash speakers with aftermarket (Bostons I had kicking around), and they compliment the Pioneer woofs/tweets that came installed in the doors quite well. Cleaned up some hilarious wiring from the previous aftermarket install, tucked everything through the oem door accordion-grommets.

Tempted to install a 6x9 in the sliding door - I currently have one in my TownAce van that adds a lot of sound (great resonating cavity) - it's more work because the wiring needs to be mated via contact pins when the door closes. Lol the TownAce ended up with 16 speakers total...

I've noticed that the retractable antennae does not actuate, I think it was disconnected via the previous install and I want to try and see if it still works. Often its better to leave these retractable types be, especially if happily in the retracted position, lol... but... I 'm too curious.

If the antenna on the passenger side is the one you refer to, that is a curb finder designed to avoid leaving your sidewalls behind. You're right, it's best left retracted, like sleeping dogs... You should have a manual antenna on the drivers side.

Looks like a fun project

Hiya!
The chrome one in the corner of the left front bumper? Its a curb finder? What actuates its extension?
I noticed the four proximity sensors (still operational) facing outwards at all corners, but didn't know about any curb finder, lol. Thanks!

I should have known, lol, exactly what it looks like it should be... thanks!

*EDIT
I should add, that toggle utilizes a relay that I hear clicking somewhere under the dash, but nothing happens to that antenna... I noticed an unplugged thin grey antenna-like (but thinner) cable in behind the stereo-deck area, perhaps that's related, and was unplugged for a reason?
