What is it with that place? Is there some kind of official policy they cover in their training about having a hate on for all things JDM? Could you walk in to a Crappy Tire in Gander, Nfld and expect the same poor treatment you'd get in Comox?

pretty much, there is one thing they are good at, standardizing, what you find at one location is pretty much what you find at all of 'em.jwfchase wrote:Could you walk in to a Crappy Tire in Gander, Nfld and expect the same poor treatment you'd get in Comox?

I wouldn't go there for anything garage related.

We once took an out of province truck to crappy tire to get it certified in BC. They certified it, but forgot to put the lug nuts back on one of the wheels. Drove for about a block when the wheel came off the truck...luckily the truck was moving slowly on a nearly empty back street so nothing bad happened, but it was a near miss. We would never go there for service!

Maybe the law should be: You need a safety inspection after service at Canadian Tire.
I will not even buy parts there anymore. Last time I tried computer was completely wrong (the parts where not for a 1 ton steering, more like small import car). No attempt to fix the computer, they will just sell wrong parts for ever with that system.

Hahah. Yeah, Canadian tire strikes again. It's not just RHD imports, I brought a Dodge Sprinter van in from the US and they wanted me to fit a light in the side entry step, because it is technically a "bus" and the bus inspection manual requires "light in stepwell". Of course this is meant to apply to the stepwell in motorcoaches but the genius's there didn't care. Didn't matter that you could walk a block down the road and buy a sprinter off the Mercedes lot that didn't have a light in the side entry. I had to get them to call Vehicle inspection before they would let it through.
