try attaching a timing light on each cylinder spark plug wire to find out which cylinder is misfiring. it may not be the one indicated but the lack of spark will show it is mistimed or misfiring and where.
good luck

L400 with Manual Transmission
CC
Only rumour but I've heard that the automatic is stronger than the manual. Look at the ratios for top end speed and ask your self how you'd like shifting with your left hand??
IMHO a manual trans would be awesome and I'd buy it!!! (except that I'm a gas man)

Dima Steam from around the valve cover gasket??? Was the oil milky under the valve cover? Otherwise the head is warped or worse. Do you see steam at the overflow or is the thermostat venting at the overflow bottle? Is your water level at the mark in the overflow bottle? How high is your temp guage a...

HTD Are you sure the tailgate door is closed. Push on it and notice if the door moves. Flickering is a symptom of it not being closed. Have someone watch the dash light when you push on the closed tailgate, if the light extinguishes then the tailgate is not closing. You may have to move the body lat...

Hi IRP and BCD I agree Horn is a great Lake but if you drive all that way you need try Sapeye, Bluff and especially Middle Lake. Only Sapeye has (easy) lake access and Middle lake access is through gated public property. The area floods most springs and the road can be in rough shape. I was lucky to...

Nogas Those are slick solutions to overheating probs but previous lack of maintenance in japan could lead you to problems even with the best maintenance you do here. Check the cooling hoses running from the thermostat to the inlet near the number 3 cylinder. That's the most important coolant to prev...

Alternator questions (L300 gas / 4G64 engine)
Check and clean the positive and negative battery cables and terminals. The delica wiring is usually undersized so any corrosion can greatly reduce power to the battery. Check each connection carefully for arc spots. If your connections ever loosened before, the wiring could've arced to ground and l...

Where to get bushings? L300
Ebay sells a lot of delica bushings. The ones supplied by Febest (Chinese but w a plant in Florida) have worked out well for me. I've replaced all but 2 bushings on my L400. I've done all but the rear trailing arm on one side just cuz of lack of time. It's a big job replacing some of the front drive...

wait till the weather dries out a little and it may work again. The window switches are notorious for stopping in the damp.
