Re: Princess Auto Meet, Victoria, BC - 10h00, 27 Nov 2011
Well, that was fun. It was good to meet you 2 fellas and to peruse the mighty halls of Princess Auto... I must admit I was a little surprised at the turnout - I half-expected a fleet of Delicas like a circle of covered wagons surrounding the PA - but it was good to come out to something at least! Th...

Re: New to Delicas.
L300 all the way! Just kidding... I think it depends on what you're looking for. My sense is that the L400 has more power, but the critique most often leveled against it is that it looks like a soccer mom vehicle. This is true, though I have seen some pretty awesome looking ones too once they've bee...

Re: L400 Crystallite roof racks wanted
Talk to Noel at Enviroimports.com - he made me an excellent quality roof rack for a good price: http://virilesoulcreations.weebly.com/moon-unit.html They had it done in less than 2 weeks if I remember correctly, they installed it, it was easy and great. Nice guys to work with. Apparently it is a bit...

Re: BEHOLD! I give you: MOON UNIT! (L300 art van)
Actually it took about 11 sharpies, once I figured out what kind to use and how to use them. And only one can of varnishy/fixative. It also took about 10 sharpies of various kinds that I ended up not using. There's a whole art to the, uh, art. Falco, at some point I'm going to head up to CCAuto in C...

Re: BEHOLD! I give you: MOON UNIT! (L300 art van)
Yes, the name originates from Frank Zappa... the van had some kind of moon-buggy space feel and the name just kind of came to me. I wouldn't say it is directly influenced by Frank Zappa (bless his groovy soul) though. Kinda cool how there are so many Deli drivers in Vic... any talk of an Island meet...

Re: Enduring clicking sound...
Sounds like I'm dealing with something normal, then...
My batteries aren't that old. I bought the van from Glen up in Coombs (it was his) and he told me they were relatively new - not sure what that means exactly tho.
Thanks for the feedback.

Re: BEHOLD! I give you: MOON UNIT! (L300 art van)
Thanks, guys! Yeah, I'm still riding the sharpie high... it has been a lot of fun to do this project. I met so many people, esp. my neighbors and people in the vicinity, from being out there most evenings drawing away. I've had a few requests to do other vehicles and perhaps that's what I'll end up ...

BEHOLD! I give you: MOON UNIT! (L300 art van)
On the weekend I finished painting/drawing Moon Unit's body... and last night I finished clear-coating her with a protective finish. Check her out: http://virilesoulcreations.weebly.com/moon-unit.html Pretty badass, if I say so myself. I did the art with black sharpies. 2" lift kit by Farsang, ...

Enduring clicking sound...
Hi all, When I turn the key on my Deli in the morning, I hear a clicking sound coming from under me, slightly behind and to the right. The sound comes every second or two, goes on for a little while, and then stops eventually (no more than 2-3 minutes). Is this normal? I've been doing some research ...

Re: Mighty Yeti Upgrades
Dude! That's awesome, it looks great. I have a few questions: 1) The plastic "MITSUBISHI" cover/shroud - what did you paint it black with? Mine is grey and looking really old... I'm thinking of either removing it altogether or painting it black as well; 2) Did you consider not putting the ...

Thanks guys. I actually bought my van directly from Glen up in Coombs (i.e., it was formerly his van).
