Living the Van Life
Hello, Haven't been posting here much lately. Here's an update on our 94 Delica L300. Nausicaa served us well on our honeymoon this summer, A 7000km camping journey from Calgary west to Vancouver Island, North to SE Alaska, east to the Yukon, then south returning to Calgary via Jasper/Banff. Amazing...

Re: My camperization (L300)
I think the mosquito net is just a no name thing from canadian tire. The mattress is two inch queen size memory foam, with more compression straps I think it could go even smaller.

Tuning IP: Overall Fueling screw. Where and how.
Here's what I've been working with over the past month on my 94 L300 4D56T Symptoms: Bad fuel mileage black smoke on full boost and kickdowns under load black smoke at mid boost (2000rpm) on full throttle So I advanced the pump 1.5mm and noticed a quieter engine, better performance and economy. Good...

Re: Fuel economy... what's yours?
I had been curious about the same, but I've heard arguments both ways. Larger AT tires obviously have more rolling friction thus reducing fuel efficiency, but also that larger AT tires have more rolling momentum that would cancel this out... Currently here are my fuel mileage stats since March 2014 ...

My data on hard start diagnosis (Glow plug diagnosis)
Vehicle: 1994 Delica L300 w/4D56T Symptoms: Poor starting when cold Profuse white/grey smoke from tail pipe for 5-10 seconds, improving immediately once combustion warms up The colder the ambient temperature( > 0 celcius) the worse the start (chugging sputtering, long cranks etc...) Cold combustion,...

Re: Captain Chair wobble fix pictures needed
Ah, that's what I figured when I looked at it, the retaining plates are shimmed up to take up the play in the turn plate (due to worn bushing or whatever).
Did this last night +1 for a successful fix. Really easy too.

Re: Captain Chair wobble fix pictures needed
I'm trying to understand why this works...
I looked at my wobbly captains chairs today, they already have a washer then a lock washer then a bolt.
Adding another washer is going to fix the wobble?
