4 cylinder gas Delica L400

Hi Sam My second delica was a 4 cylinder gasser. Yup same as what you're describing. I sold it and bought a 3 liter gasser just cuz I wanted a better highway vehicle. Now I haul heavier loads, pull trailers and have more power on the highway. I'd give the 4 cyl a 9/10 and the 6 cyl 9.5/10. Fuel mile...

Passenger Electric Window stopped working

#%^*@ delica Update from 2016 Still have the same delica and have had additional delica electrical gremlins since. It seems that if you get out in damp enough weather some component will temporarily stop working. All my switches, wiring and fuses have continuity. The motors, when powered will operat...

Rebuilding a power steering rack

Good write up guys. Just went through a year of rack problems till I had mine rebuilt by Randy at Steering Solutions 9785 192 st Langley 1 877 513 9813 randy@steeringsolutions.com A month after the rebuild with lots of backroad driving it's still holding up well. FYI Randy is not a steering rack fan...

L400 V6 (6G72) Exhaust / Tuning Question

search catalytic convertor. I put in a post in about cleaning out your cat. Or better still replace it, check out Rockauto for replacements. Of course it's illegal and dangerous with all the carbon monoxide and aldehydes a gas engine creates so I can't recommend running without a cat. It's easy to r...

Lift Kit

Ace Lift a max 1 1/2" for a cheap ball joint lift or 4,6,8" for a Heartland (japan) lift. A Heartland kit starts at $1200 but they take into consideration camber and (caster supposedly) problems. They alter and beef up the spindle to add camber to offset wheel wear and alignment problems. A ball joi...

Steering Shaft Question and Brake Confirmation

Hi Zh You probably know by now rotors are proprietary and need be purchased through mitsubishi or a shop that sells their parts. All the other parts can be had through your local parts retailer, Montero and sport are the same parts. Check out prices they vary a lot. Bleed your brake fluid frequently...

Misfire and hesitation especially at low rpm, ignition coils?

I'd expect the engine compartment to look like that w 30K Kms. How was it rated at the auctions? Is it really that clean throughout the entire van? Does it have a new van smell? Mine was at 32k kms. I'm not asking to criticise but to complement you on an awesome purchase. You should be very happy wi...

Misfire and hesitation especially at low rpm, ignition coils?

Gill Before you buy from Rockauto check out the correct part number from Amayama or Megazip. Rockauto is a PITA to deal with, often it's better to spend more and buy from CCA or Rising Sun. They all have their quirks but thus the joy of owning a delica. If you haven't cleaned the throttle body perfe...

Pull a plug first and look at it. I know how difficult it is to get all the plugs out but pull the easy ones first. Removing the air box for plug removal is straight forward but time consuming. Also a (cheap) set of tools is needed. You'll need them if you plan to keep your L400. How many kilometers...

Thomas
The alternator failure is often preceded by a dead battery, the message being "replace your battery when it doesn't hold a charge." The battery may need to be replaced with a larger battery when the deli arrives here.

DA Even my 99 L400 has IMHO too light guage a wire. Size up if you can. Never assume anything till your delica arrives. The options are incredible and hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised when your "baby" arrives. No idea on the 120V(?) plug but I'd hard wire an inverter if you need the juice....
