Cam shaft thrust O rings leak?

Hi J I'm a moderator on this site, long time (3) delica owner and a 3 litre gas owner presently. I do virtually all of my mechanical work including the oil leak on the cams, timing belts and spark plug changes. Sounds like you have been given some confusing stories about the cam leak. The entire job...

4 cylinder gas Delica L400

Hi Sam Are you buying off the japanese auction block or from a "dealer" her? Any dealer worth their salt here will change the timing belt and do all the headlight/tire/brakes/alignment changes etc before they sell it. Check it out carefully. There are a few shady dealers out there. FYI New headlight...

2000 V6 Delica 6g72 Head gasket job/kit

Log onto Megazip (japan) and compare pictures of their headgasket kit and Rockauto's Continental timing belt kit to see if all the parts are in the kit. It's time consuming but the only way to make sure you have the correct kit. Rockautos timing belt kit had all the correct parts and was so much che...

2000 V6 Delica recommended maintenance

I'd change the entire trans fluid, torque converter included when changing the filter. I won't explain how unless you need. I've already posted instructions on this site.

2000 V6 Delica recommended maintenance

This part is bigger than the rest and need be done first...... Plugs are a small PITA to change but clean out the air butterfly when you take the top end off the engine. Drop the engine a few inches when everything is off the top and change the rear (often) leaking cam covers. Be careful, you need t...

2" lift woes. What did I screw up?

Hi JB I don't often offer my opinion on L300s but here goes. The biggest problem is the 2" lift. Max 1 1/2 inch on the delica front end is best. These deli front ends were never engineered for 2 inch lifts with the stock upper, lower control arms and spindles. You will be forever replacing tie rods ...

replacement headlight lenses

Hi W Cheapest thing may be to pay your deductible and make an insurance claim. CCA on Van Island has parts, just guide your body shop their way and let the 2 talk it over. Alders took out my front fender, window visor and headlight this fall. The final claim was #$%&#@ outrageous but my deductible co...

4 cylinder gas Delica L400

Hi Sam My second delica was a 4 cylinder gasser. Yup same as what you're describing. I sold it and bought a 3 liter gasser just cuz I wanted a better highway vehicle. Now I haul heavier loads, pull trailers and have more power on the highway. I'd give the 4 cyl a 9/10 and the 6 cyl 9.5/10. Fuel mile...

Passenger Electric Window stopped working

#%^*@ delica Update from 2016 Still have the same delica and have had additional delica electrical gremlins since. It seems that if you get out in damp enough weather some component will temporarily stop working. All my switches, wiring and fuses have continuity. The motors, when powered will operat...

Rebuilding a power steering rack

Good write up guys. Just went through a year of rack problems till I had mine rebuilt by Randy at Steering Solutions 9785 192 st Langley 1 877 513 9813 randy@steeringsolutions.com A month after the rebuild with lots of backroad driving it's still holding up well. FYI Randy is not a steering rack fan...

L400 V6 (6G72) Exhaust / Tuning Question

search catalytic convertor. I put in a post in about cleaning out your cat. Or better still replace it, check out Rockauto for replacements. Of course it's illegal and dangerous with all the carbon monoxide and aldehydes a gas engine creates so I can't recommend running without a cat. It's easy to r...

Lift Kit

Ace Lift a max 1 1/2" for a cheap ball joint lift or 4,6,8" for a Heartland (japan) lift. A Heartland kit starts at $1200 but they take into consideration camber and (caster supposedly) problems. They alter and beef up the spindle to add camber to offset wheel wear and alignment problems. A ball joi...
