Re: how "off road ready" can a Delica be?

BTW, when we relocate to Ontario in a couple months i am planning on bringing in a 5 spd Delica for the sole purpose of creating a true "OFF ROAD" Delica (that can still be driven on the road). I will start a thread at that time detailing the adventure. So you're importing VW Syncro Vanagons now? :...

I don't think discriminatory deals are the routes to be exploring. Discrimination is wrong in any form be it from from ethnicity to religion to fuel type...

I use those cheapy ionizers that you can buy at Cdn Tire for <$10 that plug into the lighter socket. Seems to take a couple months but the smell goes away. I hate Fabreeze...I used that in my VW and the stink that it left was worse (imo) than what I was trying to get rid of and that Fabreezy smell w...

I personally would not buy a dealer vehicle through Terra2 because you are now paying 2 middlemen(even they say that). The auctions are the way to go and Terra2 seems to be good at getting vehicles, but you have to pay for the service. Good clarification there. I agree, if buying direct from auctio...

When using a 'middle man' service make sure they list everything thats included. Some I have talked to say they include everything up to getting the car in your driveway (meaning any compliance modifications/repairs, inpection (fee) and registration (tax, more fees) is up to you). Some only quote to...

I've used Japan Auto Direct (JAD) for 2 vehicles and was happy with the service and the vehicles. Just make sure you get full insurance coverage on the shipping...one of mine got damaged along the way and I then found out i only had total loss coverage. Personaly I wouldn't bother with using Terra2 ...

ccautos: Yeah I had to take the liteace over the Coquihalla in January so I wanted some type of winter tire on there. Like you know, the stock rear tire is a big fatty like a dragster lol and I don't think its winter performance would be too sweet. I managed to fit on some 13" Mazda 323 rims on the ...

I have the next size up from the Suzuki Carry...a Toyota Liteace 'Justlow'. 1.5L petrol engine, 750kg cargo capacity!!, bed is an enormous 8' long X5' wide and it drops down on all sides, 5-on-the-tree shifting. Love it.

If the Lens glass is OK and its the just housing that is the problem maybe you guys need to use the "EZ-Bake Oven Manouver" to make a hybrid of the new glass/old housing. I did this for my Hilux Surf and made a bit of a photo how-to. EZ Bake Oven Manouver - Hilux Surf Photo How-to Its scary ripping ...

Jon, thanks for the link, even though I just registered I've been visiting the site for a while but never noticed that post. Collector, I also think the Delica is the coolest looking of the Japanese vans...looks the most like a VW and not quite as spaceshipy as the Toyotas. And I know all about VW r...

Mitsu Delica vs Toyota Townace vs Toyota Hiace vs VW Syncro

Just wondering if anyone in their prepurchase shopping happened to test drive multiple vehicles or used to own one before the other. Interested in peoples comparitive views of one vs the other. I had a VW Vanagon Syncro for a number of years and it was extremely capable off-road even without a dedic...

It really is exceedingly rare, Japan is a small country with nowhere to drive, and where driving makes no practical sense... low mileage is the norm, turning back the odometer is too risky for no real benefit... Playing the Devil's Advocate here... It is not illegal to rollback odometers in Japan s...
