Need part number for hatchback strut

Or you just send your struts to strutwise.com and have them rebuilt. They did mine several years ago (I live in Ontario) and it was the best thing I ever did to my van. Now the hatch stays up, even with a Fiamma Bike Rack attached to it. 8-)

Starter Motor Issues

Thanks for this Growler. After 4 vodkas in, I decided to clear my mind and think about what I may have overlooked that's simple. So I climbed in the van, put the shifter into neutral and cranked it over. Boom, it started right up!! I then put it back in park and shut it off. It started right back up...

Starter Motor Issues

Well I think I found the part number. It's MD072654. I went on amayama.com and it sells for about $1000 bucks!!! Yikes :o

So that's outta the question. I guess I'll see if I can find someone to rebuild the original starter :-(

And in the meantime, I believe I'll have one more cocktail

Starter Motor Issues

Hello folks, After fixing my leaking fuel tank woes, I'm now stuck with another problem. I went to start up my van this afternoon, but no dice:( I turned the key, waited for the glow plug click then turned the key all the way. All I ended up with was one click sound after the glow plug click sound. ...

More Leaking Fuel Tank Woes:(

I posted a few weeks ago about my '93 Super Exceed springing a leak from the front fuel tank where the seam is about half way up the tank. I decided the easiest thing to do was to have my mechanic remove the tank and have it sent to a place that re seals them with some sort of bladder on the inside ...

Leaking Fuel Tank

I've had my head underneath the van lots over the years, but it's currently at the VW Dealership and I couldn't remember what they looked like. I saw that awesome post you shared Growler while poking around on the internet earlier today. Unfortunately, the tank that's for sale on ebay in the UK is t...

Leaking Fuel Tank

Thanks for the responses fellas. I've heard amazing things about that Por 15 stuff. Something else I forgot to ask is whether or not the two fuel tanks are the same size and shape? The new one that's listed on ebay doesn't specify this. Anyway, I've had my mechanic suck the fuel out of the tank so i...

Leaking Fuel Tank

Hello folks, A few weeks ago I posted about hard starting on my van. It was suggested that I may have some fuel lines that need to be replaced. I just got back from a trip to Jamaica, and finally getting around to dealing with this issue now. I took my van to my local Volkswagen dealer as I have a f...

Delayed Starting & Low Idle

Well Growler, once again you're exactly spot on!! I've been visiting at a friend's over the weekend. I parked my van in his super clean garage with a concrete floor. I notice diesel fuel on the floor about where the sliding door is, on that side when I moved the van. I'll check on those fuel lines a...

Delayed Starting & Low Idle

Hello folks, After enjoying almost 7 years of worry free driving with my 1993 Mitsubishi Delica L300, I've got a little glitch happening intermittently when starting it up. Usually I just turn the key, wait for the click and boom, it fires right up. lately it's been turning over for about 3 - 5 seco...

L300 Crystal Lite manual shades? Or non working power shades?

This is excellent. What you're saying makes sense. You really have to treat the rust from the inside to do this fix properly. I bought mine with these rust spots on the roof, but over my 7 years of ownership, they've not gotten all that much worse. My van has been rock solid and hands down the best ...

L300 Crystal Lite manual shades? Or non working power shades?

Man, you are on top of this stuff Furi!! Do you mind sending me more info on the truck bed liner idea? Is this stuff you can purchase over the counter at like a Crappy Tire or something? I was going to go to Rhino Truck Bed Liners here in Ontario, but I was told it's quite expensive and I don't thin...

L300 Crystal Lite manual shades? Or non working power shades?

Hello Furi, I don't believe there was a manual option for the power shades. And from what I understand, it's an extremely complicated set up to service. I have rust on my roof (that started from the inside). One of my shades no longer functions (stuck open), and the others work about 90% of the time...

Relocating from Vancouver to Montreal

Insurance might be an issue as well. Most insurance companies think these vehicles are more dangerous (even though they're not) because of the RHD thing. And I assume they're getting enough business from everyone else, that they're not really interested in insuring what we drive. It's Government man...
