Re: Reflections on driving on an airfield after a trip up a

Yeah viking is the TC owner for them, however from what we have heard they have no current plans to start production again until they get a military contract it seems. I have a few friends that work at GSH! in fact they are next door on the airport! Aviation is a very small community it seems 8-) V...

My mind just naturally goes where it shouldn't ... what, if anything, do you wear the other two thirds?

Re: repair in Edmonton???

While I cant comment on EDM shops, here in Calgary, we have Pro-Active Auto up in the NE, I've been taking my diesels there since 09 ( first a surf, and now the Delica) and I have never had any issues with their work, they do quality work, and they do what they can to try and keep costs down, my bi...

It would be fun to paint it in CANPAT. OverlanderJay would love that too! Or a flat dark gray.

Re: annual alberta 4x4 club/groups meeting - calgary

Drat, didn't see this post until now. I would have come out for it. I've done some of the trails in Waiporous and McLean Creek, including ones where I organized the Deli meet, and we had up to 6 Delicas out on the trails. Way in the past (early 2000s?) I helped the 4x4 clubs with the annual trail cl...

Re: Reflections on driving on an airfield after a trip up a

I fly a citation CJ4 for a private owner out here in Alberta. Its good to know there are a few others that like the flying scene! I hope your CJ4 isn't nordo, just you :-D As you can see from my current signature photo, I like to get altitude even when not flying. Next time I'm heading to YQL for C...

Re: Need everyone to see this: Exhaust Gas Temperature Stuff

I almost never see black smoke, except on start-up in the winter. So for me that isn't a useful tool. I have a 2.5" side exhaust, so I would see it. As others have pointed out, I do see smoke at night in the headlights of the car behind, but it is invisible in the day. As for the exact temperat...

Re: Need everyone to see this: Exhaust Gas Temperature Stuff

Mine seems to measure the temperature of the metal it is mounted in, rather than the temp of the gasses passing by. Otherwise the temp would drop much faster than it does. But I'm fine with that, 'cause that's much more what I want to know.

... and coolant temp will get near redline. Wow, that sounds like there's an issue there. I've never been able to get it above 3/4, even in 36 degree heat climbing a hellish hill out of the Okanagan. L300 or L400? From everything I've read on the forum, for a L300 it is pretty normal if you have th...

Re: Need everyone to see this: Exhaust Gas Temperature Stuff

My probe is post-turbo. Routine driving I see 800-1100, up mild hills or headwinds, easily up to 1200. Long up hills like the Coquihalla I'll be down to 80 km/h and the EGT will get up to 1400 and coolant temp will get near redline. I never shut off the engine until the EGT is down to 500. Sounds to...

Re: Lightbar power

Part 2 of my rack. All the lights are relay controlled from the front console. The relays for the lights are hidden under the side step of the sliding door -- the plastic step has angled corners, but the metal behind has square corners, leaving lots of space for the relays. After I took this photo, ...

Re: Lightbar power

I'm rather late to this thread. Sorry, I haven't been on the forum that much lately. But since I have quite a bit of stuff on the roof, and I've done it without drilling any holes, I figured I'd finally get around to posting this stuff. I have the following stuff on the roof rack, so I've got lots o...

Re: Spare Tire Fit

Sorry I didn't see this post a long time ago. I also had the issue of my 235/75/r15 tires. I modified the carrier by drilling another hole in the vertical part.

See my old post at http://www.delica.ca/forum/spare-tire-c ... tml#p10787
